Saturday breezes whipped up on Roxie's neck.
"I Promise Andrew, I will be yours some day," Roxie held a pink spiral notebook close to her chest.
"What are you doing out here Roxie? It's freezing," Roxie's mom came out on the porch and brought a fuzzy brown blanket with her. "Here,"
Roxie frowned and rolled her eyes. She thought her mother was over protective at times like these.
"I don't need it, I'm not cold," Roxie said in a harsh voice.
"You should still have it. Just in case, you could catch a cold," Roxie's mom said with a faint smile on her face.
"Whatever, just give it here," Roxie frowned and held out her hand.
Roxie was always used to her mother being over protective. Her mom would tell her to be careful and always spook to Roxie with caution in her voice.
Roxie's mom handed Roxie the brown blanket and smiled. She walked in the house and shut the door.
"I wish she would just leave me alone. Why am I the only one who ever gets bothered by her. Dad never says a word even when he knows she's being a little too over protective," Roxie frowned and stated to play with a few strands of her hair. The next day wasn't any better than the day before.
"Hey Roxie, can you please wear a shirt that covers more skin. They say the high is going to be 57 degrees," Roxie's mom said while washing dishes. "It's not appropriate to where to school,"
"It's 57 degrees! That's just the right temperature for a short sleeve shirt!" Roxie yelled.
"I don't care, you live in my house, you live by my rules," Roxie's mom said bluntly and put the dishes down. "now go put on a long sleeved shirt!"
"I hate you!" Roxie screamed and ran up to her room.
When Roxie reached her room she change into a blue tank and a sweater.
"Moms just aren't nice I guess," Roxie sighed and sat on her bed. "I guess I need to get to school,"
Roxie ran down to the kitchen and fled through the door.
"Hey Roxie!" Kile smiled.
"Hey Kyle, do you need something?" Roxie gave a big smile to Kyle.
Kyle was a childhood friend of Roxie. He went to the same school and had the same classes with Roxie until this year.
"Well I was wondering if you were free tomorrow night," Kyle smiled and blushed.
"Yeah, do you need help studying?" Roxie smirked.
"Well no, but I was wondering if you could come over for a movie night," Kyle reached for a movie case. "This is the movie,"
"Bride of the zombie," Roxie read. "You've got good taste,"
"Thanks," Kyle blushed and stared at the floor.
"What time?" Roxie asked and tried to look at Kyle's face.
"6:00," Kyle looked up.
"Cool! I'll see you there," Roxie smiled and walked towards the entrance of the school.
"Hey Roxie! I baked you some cookies," A boy with blond hair walked up to Roxie and handed her a box of cookies.
"Thats very sweet of you! Thanks!" Roxie gave the boy a smile and kissed his cheek.
"Wow, I'll never get tired of those," The boy hugged Roxie.
"Ha ha," Roxie tried to force herself to laugh. She looked over to Kyle. Kyle just shook his head and walked away.
"Well see you later," Roxie pulled away and ran inside the school.
"Hi Andrew!" Roxie smiled when she saw a boy with brown hair walk past her.
"Hi, who are you again?" Andrew asked.
Andrew was Roxie's crush, Although he's a bad boy Roxie still loves him. Andrew doesn't like Roxie though. In a matter of fact he hates girls like her. He thinks they act like dogs and dogs are just too clingy.
"Dont you remember me? Roxie," Roxie felt like a knife went through her.
"Oh yeah, your the girl who is too clingy. I have to admit you are pretty cute but you just aren't my type," Andrew said bluntly.
"Your just teasing me," Roxie smiled faintly and messed with her fingers.
"No I really wasn't but if you say so I guess," Andrew waved good bye to Roxie and talked with his friends.
"Miss Roxie report to the principles office," The schools secretary's voice came on loud and clear through the intercom.
Roxie sighed an went to the office.
"So you wanted to talk to me," Roxie said and look at the principle.
"Yes, we have bad news for you," the principle frowned.
"One of you family members have died," The principle leaned forward. "I'm very sorry for your loss,"
"Who?!" Roxie yelled from across the desk.
The principle told Roxie and Roxie put bother her hands over her mouth.
"No!" Roxie screamed.To be continued!
