"It seems your mom was driving and wasn't looking. She drove off the bridge at Route 70," the principle intertwined his right hand with his left.
"No, this is all a dream right? Right?!" Roxie started to freak out and walked to the corner. She rocked back and forth with her hands between her legs.
"I'm very sorry for your loss," the principle untwined his hands and gathered three papers. "This is some papers your guardian needs to sign,"
"My mom was my only guardian," Roxie had fear in her voice.
"I'm her guardian now," A tall man walked into the principles office.
"Dad?" Roxie got up from the corner she was sitting in.
Roxie's parents were divorced. She hadn't seen her dad since she was around 6 years old. That's probably why she was so surprised that he's come here.
"I got a call from the counselor that your mother was dead. I'm very sorry, if I could go back in time I would, but I can't," Roxie's dad smiled and took out a pen. He signed the three documents and handed them to the principle.
"Thank you," the principle took the papers out of Roxie's dad's hands.
"Now you can get back to class or if your dad wants to take you home I can understand,"
"Roxie, what do you want to do?" Roxie's dad asked.
"I don't know," Roxie sighed.
"I'll take you home then," Roxie's dad smiled and looked at the principle. "Can I?"
"Yes, you may. I will notify her teachers about what happened. I hope you feel better soon," the principle started to type documents.

Two years later, it was Roxie's 17 birthday. It had been a tragic loss for Roxie's family. When they all heard that someone died the family went from being happy to the most pain felt family there was. As for Roxie, she had gotten over her moms death rather fast, but her mothers death had changed her. She began to crave the attention of other people, mostly guys. She was a very nice and kind girl on the outside, but when you looked inside she was as dark as the devil. But that's about to change when she enters a computer club."Blow them out before they get on the cake!" Roxie's dad clapped his hands.
"Dad I'm not a baby. Stop acting like I am," Roxie frowned and glared at her father.
"I know I act a little crazy sometimes, but I'm just trying to keep light in the world," Roxie's dad grinned and patted his daughters head.
Roxie growled and removed her dads hand from her head and said, "The world can fall into darkness for all I care,"
"I wish you weren't like that," Roxie's dad's smile faded away.
"Well I am, so get over it," Roxie exclaimed.
"Fine then, have it your way," Roxie's dad frowned and walked out of the kitchen.
Roxie stared down at the candles, wax dripping down the sides. She looked around to see if anyone was watching and then blew the candles out. She had wished that Andrew would love her and make her forget about the past.
"I love and always will love you Andrew," Roxie put her hands over her chest. "forever and always,"School
"So, Roxie I was wondering if you would like to get a bite to eat at that new diner across town," A boy in a baggy blue t-shirt blushed and pulled back his hair.
"Sure, just give me a time and I'll do my best to be there," Roxie gave the boy a big smile and leaned closer.
"Well, um, tomorrow? Does that sound good. At 5:45 pm?" The boy twiddled his two index fingers.
"Okay, cool!" Roxie hugged the boy and walked over to Kyle.
"Why do you always do that?" Kyle asked as both him and Roxie walked down the sidewalk.
"Why do I do what?" Roxie stopped and stared at Kyle.
"You always give boys physical contact! You hug them and give them pecks on the cheek! The weird part is you do it only to the guys who ask you out!" Kyle stopped and raised his voice.
"I do it because I think it's sweet how boys get enough courage to ask a girl that like out. Is there a problem giving them a reward?" Roxie frowned and put her hands on her hips.
"No it's just that..." Kyle stared at the dirty pavement of the sidewalk.
"That what?" Roxie asked and put Kyle's head facing hers.
"Whenever I ask you on dates you always ask if it's a studying thing or something crazy like that. You don't hug me or anything!" Kyle yelled with tears flowing down his cheeks.
Roxie blushed and hugged Kyle. She smiled and said, "Kyle, if you would've told me or something I would've hugged you, if you wanted. I thought since you and me were friends ,not some random boy who asked me out, we didn't need to do that. I'm sorry,"
Roxie let go of Kyle and wiped his tears off his face. She cupped her hand on the side of his face and smiled. Kyle sniffed and held his hand to Roxie's.
Roxie then felt someone grip her mouth and squeezed her arm.
"Help!!" Roxie screamed and struggled but the grip kept getting tighter. Roxie was losing circulation in her wrist to the point where she couldn't feel it anymore. She thought was she going to die or be kidnapped by this strange person. To be continued
