V-Day Special 🫶 (Part 1/2) || Morty x Reader

Morty's POV:

"Alright Morty.." He says in the mirror, "Today is the day you ask them out."

My pep talks weren't very helpful, but it gave me slight confidence.

The date showed February 14th, 2023. Valentines day wasn't very exciting for me considering I wasn't very popular around school. Until (Y/N) showed up, it was love at first sight. That's what I believed anyways. Rick told me it was just chemicals in my brain and that I should focus on other things. But this was different, they were so... nice, and good-looking! They talked to me first too and now we're friends.

I pick up my phone and nervously type in their phone number. The phone rang as I felt myself swallow down my nerves to try and sound like I put in an effort.

They pick up the phone, "Hello?" They answer.

"H-Hey (Y/N)!" I ask, more nervous than I was before.

"Oh! Hi Mort!!" They respond, "What's up?"

I swallow and start talking, "Can-Can you maybe meet me at the park? To hang out?"

"Sure!! I'd love to," they say, "Not like I have anything going on today!"

"Okay cool, I'll see you there in-in 5!" We say our goodbyes and I hang up the phone.

I take a deep breath and exhale as if the adrenaline in my body ran out.

I make it to the park, 8 minutes have passed and I see them walking up the sidewalk. I make eye contact with them and my cheeks turn a light shade of pink and I quickly look away, playing it off as nothing happened.

They stop and sit on the bench next to me. I finally speak up, "U-Uhm, I have- I have something to ask you." I stutter.

I'm visibly shaking and sweating slightly as they look at me in concern.

"Sure, what's up Mort?" They reply.

"I- Um." I choke on my words

They start getting worried as I fumble my sentence and try to spit something out. The only thing I can think to do is start rambling. I've been feeling so many feelings at once and I don't know how to handle it.

"Listen (Y/N)," I take a deep breath in and start, "I've liked you for a really long time since you first came here and I think you're really gorgeous and I hope this isn't too embarrassing and I know this might be weird and I hope you can-" Morty was cut off.

"Morty! Morty calm down!" They say and put their hand on my cheek. My face burns up and I'm love-struck. They look at me for a solid second, pondering what to say. "I think I like you too. It's been a blast with you and I really hope we can do more together"

I smiled widely as they smiled back. After that we chatted for hours until the sun started to fall behind the mountains.

"I should probably get going," (Y/N) smiles at me, "It was really fun hanging out with you Morty."

As they walk away, I make one last move. I grab their arm and passionately kiss them. Seconds later we part and say our goodbye. I hear them squeal silently as they walked away.

Today was a good day.
