Y/n stood outside of Shiratoraizawa in her white and fuchsia uniform holding a few bags in her hand. In that moment she almost shed a tear thinking about how much she was going to miss being here. After she built a reputation for herself and the best friends she could ever ask for, she was moving back to her old, dreaded life.

To her mom's new 2 bedroom apartment. With her 4 other siblings.

The low riding, used car came to pick her up. Her mom smiled widely at the sight of her oldest child and as for y/n... quite the opposite. Rushing out of the car in her blue nurse scrubs, her mother threw her arms around her.

"Y/N!!!!" she squealed in joy after only seeing her daughter for a few moments. Her mother missed her a lot while she was at Shiratoraizawa for the last 2 years, visits only came once every often and the rules were restricting. Yes, y/n was happy to see her mother, but was she as overjoyed? definitely not. To her mother, her baby girl was coming home. But to y/n, she was going back to the life she hoped to forget.

"Hi mom!! It's so good to see you, I've missed you." she said pulling apart from the hug, "Not as much as I've missed you sweetie."

Y/n smiled and placed her bags in the trunk of the low car. She took a look around, making sure nobody saw her get into the car made around 11 years ago, inexpensive too.

Her mother drove off into Tokyo, further and further away from where she wanted to be. "So, how was Shiratoraizawa? Tell me all about it, I've heard wonderful things!!" her mother asked gripping onto the old and worn leather steering wheel. Her straightened hair just behind her shoulders to the seat cover. Y/n loved her time there, immediately getting excited as she remembered all of the great times there. "I loved it mom. Omg it was the best. The place was huge, the dining hall was huge, the dorms were soo big. Plus the people were cool too. At first I didn't know a lot of people but I became really close with the volleyball team."

Her mother inwardly cringed, the exaggeration of how large-at-living she was used to make her insecure about her own finances.

"That's wonderful sweetie. Isn't the one boy you were close with on the volleyball team? Haven't I met him before?"

ouch.

Ushijima. Her best friend at Shiratoraizawa, the first person to not be prejudice when it came to meeting her for the first time. Who eventually, became her closest friend even more so than Kuroo. And then, became something more than friends.

"Yeah he's the ace and the captain. Remember that really tall guy who you met at open house? The one who complemented you for being a nurse?"

"OHHH Himmm..." she slapped her hand on the steering wheel, "Yes I remember meeting him in your first year, he was such a kind young gentleman. Whew it's been a while."

smiling at the thought, "Yeah, he was."

At the moment the car stopped and your mother said, "We're here! You're going to like this place much more than the last!!" the last place she technically lived was at the school. That chance was highly unlikely. It was nice though. A red brick apartment building with some bright trees and flowers outside. Nicer than the last apartment.

She stepped into the building smelling carpet immediately. Not a musty smell either, and not carpet cleaner. Just carpet that piled over the steps.

Her apartment was the 5 building on the 2nd floor, 2 door to the left. Number 522 in rusted gold lettering on the white wooden door. Her mother knocked, to see her second youngest, a 9 year old boy with curly hair just like yours. "N/N!!!!" the little boy, your little brother, squealed and jumped into your hug. He squeezed tight as your other siblings came to the door too. 2 other younger brothers, and a sister, in the middle of them.

Nobody at Shiratoraizawa would give her the love and warm feeling that they did, and that she missed the most.

Taking a look around, it was definitely a size-up. Two bedrooms. Two full-sized beds. An upgrade.

See, before, it was only a one bed. Queen-sized though. Your mom offered to sleep on the couch, to give you and your siblings the more comfortable bed. But, 5 in one bed wasn't working out that well for any of you. The sleep that all of you got was not healthy at all and all of you were more tired and so was your mother. So, you went and thrifted a cot to set up in the living room. There, you slept and let your little brothers and sister enjoy the bed.

You, your mom, and your sister would sleep in one bed. Your three little brothers sleeping in the other bed.

Now, you see why you try so hard for nobody to find out?
