We continued to walk for what felt like an eternity. Muichiro started to lag behind so I slowed down, though I was hoping to get back before sundown. I looked up and around at the trees. It's spring so new leaves were starting sprout and flowers were starting to bloom. We were almost there. I could even smell the wisteria.
"Ne-san," Muichiro said. " can we take a break?" I nodded and looked ahead. We were so close and we could make it back within a couple minutes, but my brother's stamina is much lower than my own which makes the journey more difficult for him.
"We're almost there," I said. "We can take a break, just not for too long." We spotted some boulders and walked over to sit down.
"Ne-san?" Muichiro asked, hesitant.
"Yeah?" I responded.
"What exactly is your job?"
"Well... You know the monster that killed Yuichiro?"
"...yeah."
"It's my job to kill those monsters, or as they are called, demons. You see, I am a demon slayer and work for the Demon Slayer Corps, an organization that has existed since ancient times. It is our job to protect humanity from demons and prevent them from devouring people."
"The demon slayers," I continued. "use special breathing techniques, known as Breathing Styles, which grant them superhuman strength and increased resistance, helping them against the demons and kill them. The most powerful demon, Muzan Kibutsuji, is the Demon lord and the very first one. So far, he has only been seen once in recent years. Even our most powerful demon slayers, called Hashira, haven't seen him."
Muichiro looked at me in awe. I guess he wasn't expecting me to say these things. "Are you a Hashira?" He asked. When I nodded he looked excited and jumped. "In that case, let's get going!" I laughed and we continued on our way. When we finally got to the entrance, he was speechless. We walked towards the house, but we got stopped by my crow.
"Caw! The master wants the see your brother! I repeat! He wants to see your brother!" I looked at Muichiro, who was frozen by surprise. He wasn't expecting a talking crow. He shook it off and shrugged. I sighed then changed direction. I guess we'll go see the master first.
