Alex's parents drove us back to their house from the dance. When we got to their house I was surprised to see something pretty close to a mansion. After all, it was just Alex and his parents, right? Wrong. Alex had two little brothers and three sisters. His sisters were triplets and telling them apart was about as easy as trying to figure out what was going on in Inception. Their names were Julie, Kelly, and Leslie, I had to look at their freckle patterns to eventually figure out who was who. However, his brothers looked very different. Timmy, who was around ten, had red hair that resembled Tina's. And Vince was around fourteen and looked like a smaller version of Alex.

"So this is dinner with your parents?" I whispered to Alex as everyone rushes to a seat at their dinner table.

"Okay, I forgot to mention a few siblings..." He said.

"Five."

"Yeah, five, but I assure you their very calm, and if not I'll kick them under the table."

Alex held out his elbow and I let him guide me to the table. I sat down next to him and his mother. His mother had blonde hair and bright green eyes and his dad had blue eyes and dark brown hair.

"So, are you and Alex friends with a girl named Diana Harper?" Alex's mom asked.

My hand stopped as I was about to put some steak in my mouth. I hadn't told Alex about the "incident" yet and I was hoping I wouldn't have to.

"She's in our math class, why do you ask?" Alex said.

"I work with her mother at the hospital."

I had remembered Diana's mom, she was really kind and she always made us snacks. She probably made the best mini sandwiches I ever tasted.

"Michelle...?" asked one of the triplets breaking my train of thought.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"I asked if you could passed the salt."

"Oh," I replied blushing and looking at Alex embarrassingly. I passed her the salt while the other two triplets were giggling.

After dinner Tina picked me up. It was raining so hard that I could barely tell when her car was in Alex's driveway. Once Tina honked I gave Alex a hug and ran to the car.

We were driving for about three minutes when we came to an intersection. As the light turned green suddenly an SUV came from the left side and slammed into our car. Next thing I knew, our windows were broken, glass was on the floor of the car, and Tina had a six inch long piece of glass in her leg.

I was so in shock I didn't notice blood dripping down my head. I climbed to the front seat to help Tina. She was screaming in pain and moaning.

"It's gonna be alright," I told her.

"You'll be fine, you'll be fine, you'll be fine!" I kept saying as blood came gushing out of her leg.

I tried to stop the blood flow, but she would yelp every time I touched it.

"Don't make me have to watch you in pain! I can't bear it!" I yelled at her as if it would make her wound heal.

Suddenly all I could see was red. The blood coming from my forehead had reached my eyes and I remembered that I had banged my head against the door when the car was hit. I had been on the left side of the car because I was trying to get out of the rain and didn't bother moving to the passenger seat.

Everything just started to fade, but I could still hear Tina's cries of pain. I could feel my eyes closing and I was fighting back to stay awake. I didn't want to lose another person I loved again. Eventually I couldn't fight back anymore and I blacked out.

I woke up in a hospital room and felt where I had hit my head. I reached up and touched the bandage on the top right corner of my forehead.

A nurse walked in and handed me some soup. I was about to say something, but couldn't find a way to get it out of my mouth. Just as she was about to leave;

"Where's Tina?" I blurted out.

"She's fine, but she'll be on crutches for the five months. You on the other hand, you'll be in tip-top shape by Thursday, but for the next couple days there'll be a little swelling." She said.

"How long have I been out for?" I asked my head still throbbing.

"Just a few hours," she replied.

I looked down.

"What kind of soup is this?"

"Coconut milk, chicken, carrots, and some Thai spices."

I smiled. That was what Tina made me when I got sick.
