Narration

Jannie awakens when she feels a heavy weight on her body. She slowly opens her eyes, only to be faced with the man's face up close. His arms circle around her waist in a tight embrace.

Jannie struggled to break free from his embrace, but she could only give up with her meager strength.

She didn't want to sleep any longer. She touches his face with her free hand, beginning with his eyes and moving down to his lips. She quickly pulled her finger away from his lips and kissed him shamelessly.

She kept pecking his lips until he responded. Her eyes widened as she realized the man next to her was awake. But she didn't say anything and simply opened her mouth to give way.

She was kissed until she couldn't breathe any longer.

"You've got some bad manners, kissing me in my sleep," Hennessy smirks.

"Heh! Obvious naman na kanina ka pa gising." Jannie snorted.

"Be good and sleep more," Hennessy says, his voice hoarse.

"Ayoko na, ang sakit ng balakang ko!" Jannie complained.

Hennessy stood up.

"Dapa ka, I'm going to massage you."

"Kung marunong ka lang magpigil, edi hindi masakit balakang ko!" Jannie shook her head angrily.

"I can't help myself," he said as he continued to massage her.

Jannie raised an eyebrow at the man, who clearly lacks restraint and can only create a solution for the aftermath.

"Mga lalaki nga naman," she muttered.

"Wag kang masyadong magaslaw."

"Nagugutom ako."

"What would you like to eat?"

"French toast- Ah!" exclaims Jannie, kicking the man behind her. "Dahan dahan naman!" she complained.

He chuckled.

Jannie didn't want to move a muscle after the massage.

"Take a shower while I prepare our breakfast."

But Jannie refused to budge. Hennessy sighed and reached for her armpit with his hands. He was carrying her in an instant.

"Do you want me to bathe you?" he teased.

"Arrgh! Magluto ka nalang muna!" she exclaimed as she dashed to the restroom.

Jannie realized after she finished showering that she had forgotten to bring a towel and a change of clothes.

"Henry! Mother Hen! Hennessy! Nalimutan ko 'yung towel at damit ko, paabot naman."

A few minutes later, Jannie heard a knock.

"Iwan mo na lang dyan," she shouted.

"Can I come in?" he asked, jokingly.

"No," she replied sweetly.

Jannie quickly changes her clothes and begins drying her hair. But Hennessy grabbed the dryer in her hand.

"I'll do it for you," he said.

Everyone has their first time doing something. In this case, it's his first time using a hair dryer and drying someone else's hair. He didn't need to use a dryer because his hair dried quickly.

Hennessy was confident that if he tried hard enough, he could do everything even if the results were mediocre. But for the first time, his confidence was shaken.

Not only was her hair entangled in his fingers. He failed to accomplish his goal: Jannie's hair is still wet.

"Aray! Wag mong hilain buhok ko," Jannie exclaimed.

His initial confidence had been shaken, and he could only apologize to her. He didn't even bother to correct his nickname.

Jannie notices his change of tone.

She patted his hand to console him, "Ayos lang yan. May next time pa."

Even when they were eating, Hennessey's mood was still off. And Jannie felt that she needed to distract him to alleviate the awkward atmosphere.

"I love you," she muttered.

His movements stopped as if he were confirming if he had heard it right.

"I mean, I love your french toast."

"Sure. I love my french toast too." He replied.

He didn't say anything else, but Jannie noticed that his mood had improved as the corner of his lips curled.

She had no idea when she fell for him. Or what made her love him despite their daily squabbles.

Maybe that's their love language.
