Narration

"Gosh! Kaya pala parang wala sa sarili si Heze lately!" Jannie exclaimed.

"What happened?" Hennessy asked as he started the engine.

"Alam mo 'yung chismis tungkol samin? Na anak sa labas si Heze?"

"I know. But that's the truth right?" He asked, his gaze fixed on the road.

"Yep. Alam mo rin 'yung bad blood about us? Na minamaltrato ko raw siya dahil anak siya sa labas."

"I know that too, but I don't think you're that type of person."

"What if totoo pala?" Jannie asked, the corner of her lips curled. She seemed amused by the situation.

"I have faith in myself - in my own judgment," he said.

"K. Ang seryoso mo naman."

"You wouldn't abuse your half-sister just because she's your half-sister, would you?" If the rumors about his girlfriend are true, he believes Jannela would never harm others without a valid reason. She may have a bad mouth, but she is not the type of person who would hurt someone.

"Yeah. Pinakalat lang ni Heze 'yon to gain sympathy," she said insipidly. As if what she said didn't bother her.

In fact, those rumors ruined her reputation. She was labeled as a bitch, jealous, and vicious woman. As a result, most of her colleagues avoided her. Only Mela and Hennessy remained by her side.

"Malas niya ngayon. Hindi siya totoong anak ni Daddy." Jannie continued.

"Oh? That's why the rumors about you ceased?"

"Yeah. Takot siguro siyang mawalan ng mana."

But Jannie thought it was odd. Heze is not the type of person who would remain silent, given her personality. She would not put herself at a disadvantage.

"What will happen to them?"

"Hindi ko alam. Hiniwalayan na ni mamita si daddy. Bahala sila sa buhay nila."

"Tita Jen most likely decided to annul her marriage to your father now that the mistress and him are no longer together." Hennessy said.

"Noong nalaman niyang nag-cheat si daddy, sinabi ni mamita na hindi niya hahayaang sumaya si daddy kasama kabit niya."

"I admire your mom," he said. Before looking at her, he checks that the traffic lights are red. "But are you okay?"

Jannie scooted over and rested her head on his shoulder. "Hindi ko alam."

He places his hand on her head and gently brushes her hair.

"Noong bata ako, hindi ako close kay mamita. Mas close ako kay daddy. Daddy's girl kasi ako. Si Jamie naman, mommy's girl." Jannie smiled bitterly as she continued her story.

"Sabi ko pa noon, kapag lumaki ako. I'll marry my dad. Hindi ko ineexpect na si daddy din ang magiging first heartbreak ko.

Halos gumuho ang mundo ko noong nalaman namin 'yung pangloloko niya. Mas nasaktan pa ako kaysa kay mamita. Naging rebelde ako. Kinamuhian ko si daddy at ang kabit niya. Lahat ng masasakit na salita, binato ko sa kanila. Dumating sa puntong... naging bayolente ako."

Hennessy glanced at her, "It's not your fault you've become like that."

"I know," she said calmly. The more she remained calm, the more Hennessy realized she wasn't fine. Because he knows that people like Jannela don't like to keep their emotions bottled up.
