Watching her call out her lucky charm only cemented Adrien's belief that this new hero could be Ladybug, he could never forget the sound of her voice, even after three years.

He felt torn between wanting to run over and help and staying where he was. He didn't want to interrupt Ladybug but they were also supposed to be partners, it was his job to help her.

Before he was able to make a decision, he cried out as pain laced through his chest.

One of the few remaining Nomu had managed to grab him while he'd been distracted. Its hand was wrapped around his chest, trapping one arm to his side while he used the other to weakly hit the creature. He was already tired and had gained several cuts and bruises from fighting earlier, but this pain was on a different level.

He squeezed his eyes shut to try and stop his tears as the Nomu tightened its grip again. White hot pain raced through his chest, especially in his trapped arm as he felt something break. It felt like his ribs were crumbling. His entire body was starting to go numb.

Just as black started to form around the edges of his vision, he felt his body get tossed in another direction as something slammed into the beast Tumbling out of its grasp, Adrien brought his injured arm against his chest as he hissed in pain. Looking around to see what hit them, he watched with wide eyes as Hawks stood in front of him, wings flaring to protect Adrien.

As soon as Hawks took off in front of him, Haruki stood in his place, worry evident in his features as he looked at the student. Adrien could only imagine what he looked like. His white jacket was now partially covered with dirt and soot and had rips along his back and arms. The blood running down his arms from numerous scraps was being washed away by the rain as quickly as it appeared, but his jacket still turned red in a few spots.

"Adrien... what happened?"

Giving his supervisor a tight smile, he held his uninjured arm out, asking for help standing up. Before Haruki could even take Adrien's outstretched hand, both of them snapped their heads up as several explosions rang out in quick succession, shaking the ground almost as much as the thunder.

The Big Three and the young woman were all standing in a semi circle around the smoke, Adrien guessed Shigaraki was behind it. Before the explosions even died away, the heroine was running into the flames. Adrien could feel his heart stopping in his chest as fear turned his blood to ice for the second time.

He could hear someone yelling out as she disappeared into the smoke, or maybe he was the one yelling. He couldn't tell as the ringing in his ears and pounding in his chest blocked out all the other noises- fear turning to panic as the seconds went by with no sign of her.

It was only when the smoke cleared away and he saw Deku and the woman standing over Shigaraki did he start breathing normally again, falling back to the ground as relief flooded through him.

She's okay. They had a plan. She's not gone. Ladybug-

He repeated those words over in his head before Haruki once again reached down to help him up. Taking his hand, Adrien let himself be lifted up, hanging onto the other man as he steadied himself.

Looking back at where the heroes were standing, Adrien found himself captivated by a pair of shining blue eyes that were looking straight at him. Just as quickly as he had looked up, the girl broke their eye contact, dropping her head. Watching as Deku said something to her while looking at him - why was Midoriya looking at him - the girl suddenly jerked her head up and locked eyes with him again.

That was all the warning he got before she suddenly started running towards him.
