Chapter 2

Neteyam pov

"Ok everyone it's been a long day for you all go get some rest you've come a long way. We'd like it if the kids would join us at the shore in the morning if your up to it" tsireya says to us as she leaves.

"Ok we're going to go to sleep kids, we suggest you do the same." Mother says as we all go to sleep.

I decide to wake up early before the others, the water looked so pretty when we came here but I didn't have the chance to properly see it. I quietly get up and walk out the pod to the shore.

As I walk down to the shore I see a bit away from me, Y/N. He's washing his hair in the water, it being down to his waist like I thought it would be. With a animal swimming around him. He then sits in the shallow water with the animal putting its face next to his, he smiles as my heart flutters.

I decide to walk over to him to get to know him more and to ask what animal that is. He notices me walking over and hides on the other side of the animal

"Um.. hey, Y/N is it?" I say to no response. "I'm Neteyam, can I ask you a question?" I ask as he slightly nods.

"What animal is this?" I say pointing to the animal he's crouched behind.
"It's an ilu" he says quietly. "You will learn to ride them soon" he says standing up a bit more.

The ilu then swims over to me, making a clicking sort of noise at me. I smile and stroke its head, "she's so cute" I say turning my head up to him, seeing him tie his hair up. I stare at his face since he has his eyes closed, looking at all the details in his face, I stare until he opens his eyes and looks back at me.

I quickly turn my head away from him. "Why are you here so early?" He asks looking at me. "I- I wanted to look at the water but I saw you instead and came over" I say as he cracks a small smile, showing his dimples.

"Why are you here?" I ask back. "I need to wash my hair" he says kneeling down to the ilu as it swims over to him, it rubbing against his cheek making him smile. The sun is up now and people are leaving there homes.

"Why is your hair white?" I ask suddenly when I hear running behind me.

I see Tuk run out and jump onto my back, lo'ak and Kiri following behind. "Teyamm were were you?" Tuk says to me as she gets off me. "I was just talking to Y/N.." I say pointing to him, but he was gone. He went quietly.

"You hallucinating or something?" Lo'ak says to me.

"He was here I promise!" I say. "Guys over here!" We hear tsireya yell in the distance with aonung and Y/N with her. "See he's over there" Lo'ak says as we walk over to them.

We begin walk over to where they were as tsireya tells us to just have a swim to get used to the water. Y/N and his siblings gracefully dove into the water, making it look easy.

We jump into the water, not as good as we make a loud splash and I'm overwhelmed by the beauty of the sea, the fish swimming around and the life under here. As they swim deeper under the water we begin to loose out breath and swim to the surface.

They look at us confused as they swim to the surface.

"Your to fast wait for us" Tuk whines. "Then Learn quicker" Aonung says as Y/N smacks him on the back of the head "stop being rude aonung" he says to him.

"How about we teach you how to breath instead?" Tsireya suggest as we nod and head to the shore.

"Water is within you and around you" tsireya says motioning a breathing way with her hands, Y/N, aonung and his friend roxto do the same. I can't help but look at Y/N though, him sat next to me motioning to me to breath deeper.

"Your heart it too fast" Y/N says as he suddenly puts one hand on my chest and the other on my stomach. My heart beating faster as I blush, lo'ak and Kiri smirking at each other.

"You must slow your heart. Breath from here" he says tapping my stomach gently while looking up to me. "S-sorry" I try to say as he takes his hands off me.

After a while I finally get the hang of it and am able to stay underwater longer.

"Ok, we ride ilu now" Aonung says calling for the ilus, "these are ilus, if you want to live here, you have to ride" he says as i listens.

Y/N pov

"Let's split into partners to make it easier" tsireya says. "Kiri and Tuk will go with roxto and aonung, Y/N will teach Neteyam and I'll teach loak" she says smiling at lo'ak.

"Ok!" Tuk says holding Kiri and swimming to roxto and aonung. I call one of the ilus over and walk to a different place, Neteyam following me.

"Now climb onto the ilu and get into position." I say as Neteyam climbs on the ilu and attempt to figure out the right position. "This?" He asks in the very wrong pose.

"Not quite. May I?" I ask him if I can help, he only nods. I put my hands on his hips and push them into the right position. Then the same with his legs.

"Now connect you queue gently" I say holding the ilu in case, I look up to his face as I see him blushing a lot. I try not to think about it and keep helping him.

No one pov

Tsireya and lo'ak are learning close to aonungs group so there all talking while teaching, "Neteyam so has a thing for him" Lo'ak says to Kiri. "Huh? How can you tell?" She says.

"Do you see his face right now? He is blushing like crazy" Lo'ak answers while pointing at his face.

"Y/N normally makes new people nervous, people say they find him intimidating but he's really nice once you know him" tsireya says

"I don't think that's the problem" Kiri says smiling.

"Now tell him what to do in your mind." Y/N says peacefully looking up at Neteyam. "Remember to have a tight grin so you don't fall" he says. Neteyam gulps as he dashes under the water.

Neteyam looses his grip and slides off the ilu, he then swims to the surface grasping for air. Y/N swims over as Neteyam climbs out the water onto some rocks

Y/N pov

"Ow!" I hear Neteyam say as I swim over to him. "Are you ok?" I ask as he shows me his hand, "yep, perfect" he says clearly in pain. "It's ok if your hurt, let me see" I say taking his hand and seeing a big cut on it.

"That looks bad, it's ok I'll help it." I say bringing my eyes up to his. We both sit down. I untie my hair and I ask him to hold some of my hair in the cut hand. "Why do you want me to hold your hair?" He asks. "Just do it" I say as he looks down and holds some.

Neteyam pov

Y/N randomly asked me to hold his hair, I don't see why that's going to help but I do it anyways, the others slowly swimming over.

"What are they doing?.." Lo'ak whispers to tsireya "just wait" she whispers back as lo'ak looks at us in confusion.

Y/N holds my injured hand with his hair in my palm. When he closes his eyes and his hair glows golden yellow. I stare at him in confusion as he silently sits there.

After a while his hair stops glowing and he slowly opens his eyes, looking at me. He takes his hand out my hand as I stare at my palm in shock. The cuts gone.

"What.. just happend..?" I stare at him, my eyes wide and my mouth open.

"That's why my hair is white" he quietly says.
