uhgmm lol i haven't updated this book in a while

You woke up.
You felt cold. Even your blanket couldn't protect you from the returning chills- You tried to pay no mind to it, instead sitting up and sliding off your bed.
The phone on your desk beeped. An incoming message from your mom, probably. You'll answer it later.
You walked towards your door, swinging it open as you made your way out, and to the staircase.
Your stomach turned at the sight of those stairs. You weren't sure if it was just because you were hungry, or what happened four years ago.
You tried to steady your breathing as you made your way down, somewhat flinching at the sudden creaks that the floorboards made under your weight.
You felt lightheaded as you stepped onto the spot where she...
You shook your head, instead heading to the kitchen. You finally realised how dark it was - given that it was an hour or two past midnight - as you stared out the window above the sink. You swore you saw something out the corner of your eye as you turned towards the cupboard, grabbing a glass and filling it up with water, drinking it.
You felt sick as you tried to force your body to take the water.
You figured that there won't be anything in the fridge, so you washed your glass and set it back into it's original place in the cupboard. Besides, who needs to eat anyway? You walked out of the kitchen and headed back upstairs, walking into your room and over to your desk.
You fumbled with the buttons on your phone, trying to answer the message from earlier.
When you finally got it, though, you set the phone back on it's stand, listening to the message as you set your arms down on the table, slowly coming down to your knees, trying to not black out.
You barely understood anything that came from that phone.
The message ended, and you sat still for a moment as you tried to collect yourself. Tonight was different, you assumed.
You could hear banging from downstairs, perking your head up a bit.
You sighed shakily, standing up and making your way back downstairs.
You headed over to the door, unlocking it and resting your hand on it's knob, turning it ever so slightly.
"Oh! You're up, Sunny.."
Kel spoke, looking at you through the crack in the door.
".. You shouldn't ask why I'm up this early, hahah. Could I come inside?"
You nodded after a moment, opening the door wide enough so that he could get in. You keep forgetting the fact that he basically towers over you.
"So, uh- How've you been?"
You shrugged, giving him a thumbs up as you closed the door.
Kel nodded in response, then clicked his tongue as he held up a.. Tupperware? Box towards you.
"Right, I got you some food. Since, uhm, you did mention that you- Really haven't been eating as much. Plus, we did have some food left over from dinner, sooo-! Take it."
He smiled as he basically pushed the box into your chest, and you raised your hands to grab it, mumbling a small 'thank you' as you did so.
He hummed, nodding.
"Sorry for bothering you at this time, I really couldn't visit earlier because uh, my parents didn't let me.."
Kel cleared his throat.
"But, uh! I did almost get caught while sneaking out, but hey, I'd do anything to annoy my other brother!"
He chuckled. He also put some emphasis on his 'other'.
You nodded, walking over to the kitchen. You stopped halfway to make a small hand gesture, signalling for him to come with you. Not like he wouldn't follow you.
You hopped onto the counter and set the box beside you, watching Kel as he leaned against the counter, right next to you.
He hummed, trying to think of what to talk about. You sighed gently, closing your eyes ever so slightly.
"... So..."
"..."
"Have you gotten in touch with Basil recently? He said that he-"
A searing pain shot up your throat, followed by a pang of nausea, and you instinctively covered your mouth with your hand, sliding off the counter and running up the stairs, up to the bathroom. You did your best to say 'sorry' before making your leave.
You slid down to your knees, holding onto the toilet. You heaved, propping yourself up on the balls of your wrists.
Kel didn't bother following you. He probably knew what was up with you, anyway. He's not that dumb to not know.
You slid your arms further down, your elbows now coming down to rest on the seat. You felt something rise up your throat, and you-
...
You threw up.
You tried to steady your breathing, slowly standing up. You made your way over to the sink, rinsing your mouth out. You splashed your face with water.
There was something behind you.
You stared at it through the mirror. You turned around to see it gone.
...
Like always.
You sigh, drying your face off and heading towards the door. You were about to swing it open, when someone else did it for you. Kel.
".. Oh- You okay, Sun??" Kel questioned, concern clear in his voice.
You nodded, and mentioned that you were feeling sick.
"Oh.. Okay..."
...
"I.. Should be getting home soon. I'll probably be back tomorrow," He muttered out the last part with a small laugh. "Like always. Come out if you can, okay..? I really don't want you to stay here forever.. Hero misses you too.."
You nodded in acknowledgement, walking past him and stopping by the door of you and- Ahem, just your bedroom. You watched Kel wave and mutter a small 'bye' as he hurried down the stairs.
You sighed, and entered your room upon hearing the front door shut. You flopped onto your bed, groaning quietly as you pulled the blankets over yourself.
Everything is going to be okay, you thought to yourself.

Everything is going to be okay.
