"Sunnnn! Where are youuuuu..." Kel shouted, running around the trees, looking for Sunny, who was hiding in one of them.
"Sunnnnnnnnn..."
Sunny made sure that he wouldn't fall off of the branch he was was sitting on, before wrapping his legs around it and swinging down, hoping that he didn't fall. He hung upside down, trying to spot Kel.
"Sunnyyyyy!!"
Kel continued to shout as he looked around. He knew that Sunny usually disappeared whenever they hung out with the other two (Aubrey and Basil, Hero stopped tagging along due to his medical studies and college, Mari's death had hit him like a freight train so...), and since he decided to stop speaking most of the time, it was extremely hard to find him again.
"Sun- Oh, found you!!"
Kel ran towards Sunny, who stared at him with a slight smile.
"How long did it take for you to find me?"
"A while. Don't go running off like that, Sun! Or else I'll- Uh.. I'll force you to uh, buy me Orange Joe for a whole month."
"That's a thing I always do for you, Kelsey. Every single time we hang out I buy you some Orange Joe so that you don't kill me with your rambling-"
"That just sounds like you have a crush on me."
"It's a 'homie thing', like you said that one time."
"That homie thing was about-"
Kel grumbled, looking away from Sunny for a second. He then looked at his legs.
"Y'know, I'm kinda surprised that you can do that after all you've been through. You've grown pretty strong, Sun!" Kel smiled, looking back down at Sunny's face.
"Thanks.. Kel, I know you haven't gone through less than any of us. I just need you to know that,"
Sunny grabbed Kel's arms gently, making eye contact with the taller boy.
"I'll always be here for you. Anything that you need to talk about or anything that you feel is troubling you- You can always speak to me about it. Okay?"
"Sunny.. You care too much."
"Shut up, I'm serious about the thing I said."
"Right, yeah. Thanks, Sun. I really appreciate it..."
".. Anytime... Could you help me get down-?" Sunny let go of Kel's arms.
Kel rolled his eyes, grabbing Sunny by his waist and lifting him up. He was quite light.
The taller boy set the shorter down on his feet, making sure that he didn't fall because, well- Hanging upside down made him kinda light headed.
"Thanks, Kel."
"Hehe, anytime, Sun. C'mon, let's get back to the others! They're probably waiting for us to get back-"
Sunny nodded, grabbing Kel's hand and starting to walk off.
"Wait, hold on-"
Sunny looked back at him, standing still. Kel pulled him into a tight hug, making the shorter flinch a bit. He returned the hug though, waiting for Kel to let go.
".. Just a bit longer.. I know that I said that we should get back but- We never really get to share moments like these that often.."
Sunny nodded, sighing lightly as he relaxed into Kel's arms. Kel closed his eyes for a moment, resting his chin on Sunny's head. He admired how soft his hair was.
...
"Kelsey, Sunny! Where the fuck have you two run off to this time?!" Aubrey's voice could be heard from the distance. She seemed a bit annoyed.
"Dammit-" Kel muttered, letting go of Sunny and looking over at the distant trees.
Sunny let go of Kel, grabbing his hand and starting to walk off again. Kel followed him, hoping that he wouldn't have to sit through yet another lecture from Aubrey once they got back.THE ENDDDD. my antidepressants really worked their magic on this one, i feel kinda sleepy now though HAHAH. love you, homos <3 /p
