FIVE: The way we were

Just as they had promised, Yukimura and Sanada took over the tennis club, meeting Yanagi Renji along the way and earned the name 'Three Demons'. The Child of God, Yukimura Seichii; The Emperor, Sanada Genichirou; The Master, Yanagi Renji, all three brilliant as tennis. As was the rest of the regulars on Rikkaidai's boys tennis club. Satomi being an exceptional tennis player herself, had made a name for herself in Rikkaidai's girl tennis team, easily winning the respect of her peers and senpais alike.

"Rikkai's Three Demons and The Princess of Tennis eating lunch together! Oh what exciting news! News that's been printed in the bloody school newspaper 5 weeks running!! Don't these people get sick of following us around?!?!"

"Satomi, calm down."

"Probability that Satomi has something she's not telling us, 99%"

The three males looked over at their friend.

"What's wrong Satomi?"

"... Someone followed me home yesterday..."

"Who?" despite his calm exterior, you could see the anger building up in the blue haired boy's eyes.

"Iwamoto-kun..."

"Did anything happen?"

"..."

"Satomi."

"..."

"We can't help if you don't tell us anything."

"..."

"TARUNDORU!!"

"OKAY FINE YOU WANNA KNOW?"

"YES." The three chorused.

"H-he tried to kiss me..."

"THAT BASTARD."

"Guys, it's okay I handled it."

"If by handled it you mean that you pushed him away and slapped him then I gotta tell you that it won't be enough and the probability that he will try again, 65%"

"..."

"It's okay Satomi, we'll handle it."

With that Sanada and Yanagi walked off to "handle things".

"Aren't you going with them? I'll be fine you know?"

"Satomi how well do you think I know you?"

"Sometimes even better than I know myself..."

"So don't you think that right now I know that you're not okay?"

"Seichii-"

His arms enveloped her, pulling her into a tight embrace. Her face rested against his chest, her arms finding their way around his back. It felt like home. He kissed the top of her head, one of his hands finding its way to the back of her head, while the other cupped the small of her back, pulling her as close to him as possible. He breathed in her scent, as she did his, smells that their brains had long associated with the feeling of love.

"People will see..."

"It's okay, I don't care anymore, it's better that they know you're mine anyways, then they'll know better than to try anything with you."

"Seichii..."

"I'm sorry I didn't protect you-"

"Seichii, I'm not a damsel in distress I can take care of myself, I don't need you to save me, I just need you by my side."

"Satomi..."

"I love you Seichii."

"Baka, I thought I'd be the first to say it, looks like you beat me to it."

"Hehe~"

"I love you too, Satomi."

The shorter girl pulled away from his embrace, studying his features intently as she looked up, and without saying anything she tiptoed closer to him, slowly closing the gap between their lips. The kiss was chaste yet it lingered, they had, for the very first time, displayed their affection for each other in a public area.

"Ne Satomi~" he said as they pulled apart.

"Hm?"

"Looks like the school newspaper is finally gonna have a new set of headlines."

"Heh, I guess so~" she chuckled, "We should really tell Gen-chan and the others first before it gets out tho-"

"Probability that the two of you have been in a relationship for the past month 100%"

The couple in question turned around at the sound of Yanagi's voice.

"You guys knew??"

"Tarundoru! We are not blind, and I've known Yuki for forever."

"Eheh~ gomen ne? We wanted to be sure of it before going public."

"It's okay, we're happy for the both of you." and Sanada smiled.
