Aang: Oh my goodness Appa and Momo are fighting with katanas.

Zuko: Momo's sword is actually a wakizashi, it's too small to be a katana.

Aang: Wait you can see them?

Zuko, who hasn't had a proper night's sleep since he had clear skin: I see everything.

Kartara: Aang please go to sleep.

Here is my interpretation of how Zuko found out that Sozin was gay for Roku.

Aang and Zuko are chilling in the living room of the Air Temple while everyone else is doing something else.

Aang: Zuko you know how Roku was your great-grandfather on your mother's side while Sozin was your great-grandfather on your father's side?

Zuko: Yeah what about it?

Aang: Well since Roku was an avatar I can see his memories. One night I couldn't sleep so I went into the spirit world. I talked to Roku about his past. He told me about how Sozin was hella gay for him. When Sozin confessed to Roku, Roku turned him down because Roku was in love with someone else and he only saw Sozin as a brother. Sozin then banned same-sex marriage and homosexuality because Roku rejected him.

Zuko: WHAT?!

A few minutes after Aang left. Sokka walks in to see Zuko hugging his knees with his head down in the corner rocking back and forth. Sokka is very concerned. Sokka sits in front of Zuko.

Sokka: Zuzu buddy are you okay?

Zuko lifts his head to face Sokka.

Zuko: My life was more of a lie than I thought it was. Did you know that Sozin was gay for Roku but got rejected? That's his reason for banning same-sex marriage and homosexuality.

Sokka: What?!... You know what that kinda makes so much sense.
