Francis, Sullivan, and Drake stood at the edge of the dance floor. Sullivan and Drake carried cups in their hands, casually sipping on drinks as they tapped their heels to the music, observing the wall of party goers that once again wrapped around the dance floor. After a few moments, the DJ had finally brought the volume of the track down and leans in towards his microphone.
"Alright, it is now time for round two of tonight's Dance Off!" He says as the crowd erupted in celebration. "Once again, I present to you our emcee, Party Pat!" He exclaims as Party Pat strolls out onto the dance floor, bringing his microphone up to his mouth and activates it.
"How about that first round, huh?" He asks, holding his other arm out to his side.
The crowd cheers loudly, holding up their cups in the air.
"Very, very excellent." He chuckles. "But now it is time to determine our semi-finalists. And this year, we are gonna shake things up a bit." Party Pat says, gazing around to the crowd as they murmured, wondering what Party Pat could be referring to.
"As usual, each contestant will be given three shots to display their skills and will have only fifteen seconds to do so. But, instead of calling out the winner at the end of each battle, the contestants will come up at the DJ booth to learn the results of each vote. And as for the vote itself, you will only have thirty seconds to determine each winner. After the voting has ended for each match, we will immediately begin the next battle and so on." Party Pat explains.
Drake sips on his drink, looking over to Francis. "How you feeling, man?" He asks, leaning in towards him.
Francis gazed over to Drake, giving a thumbs up to him.
"Once the second round is complete, we will kick off our semi-final round and our final showdown to crown our Dance Off Champion!" Party Pat exclaims, raising his arms up to his sides as cheers again arose from the crowd.
"Good luck, dancers. And without any further delay, round two!" Party Pat exclaims, bringing his microphone down to his side and begins to stroll back over to the DJ booth. As he did, the DJ scratches a record and the music had once again resumed.
"First match of round two, we have Tiffany versus The Basketball Shuffle Kid!" The DJ says, the crowd erupting with applause at the announcement.
Francis throws up his eyebrows, shocked that he was competing this soon going into the second round. As the crowd continued their cheers, he stepped out onto the dance floor, watching as his opponent skipped out, flapping her arms out to the crowd. As he approached the middle of the dance floor, he had begun size up her up. Based on her earlier performance, he didn't think he need to pull out the stops against her. However, he didn't want to let his guard down.
As the instrumental built to the track was reaching the end of its buildup, Francis noticed as his opponent waved to him with both of her hands. Francis smirked as he then simply removed his hand from out of his jacket and gave a peace sign to her.
"Contestant one! Three, two, one, go!" The DJ counted down to the beat as the beat dropped.Francis' opponent, Tiffany, started her turn with a shuffle routine, cheers sounding off from the crowd as they watched her dance. Francis had expected the routine, wondering if he she was capable of any different style. Before he knew it, the first fifteen seconds had passed.
"Contestant two!" The DJ says as he remixed a pop song into a EDM track.
Francis jumped into his routine, combining the crip walk dance move with a shuffle routine, turning his body as he performed the fusion of styles, the crowd erupted in applause.
He completed a few sets of steps of the fusion before transitioning into his own normal shuffle routine that he used to practice during those nights at the basketball courts to finish off his first turn in the match. Finally, his time on his first turn was over.
