You just want to have a normal day—well, as normal as it can be for you—but Dallas Winston always has other ideas for what is going to happen to you. Do you care? No, why would you care? Yes, you are sitting here in the diner with Dallas Winston, and to an outsider, they would think you were on a date. but you weren't. You were on your way to the pharmacy for your vitamins, and here comes Dallas as he pulls you away from the shop and to the diner.

It's not even the first time he's done this. The last time he pulled you away from your regular daily life, he dragged you away from a shop after you left, walking and dragging you beside him as he forced you to sit in the diner with him. You got a milkshake and he got a burger with some fries at the diner, and he would just ask you questions sometimes about your sisters, but you don't remember who they were since you were just staring into space. Then he paid, and you left to go home and sit just staring out the window or watching TV for hours on end.

Well, that mess of what occurred four months ago leads us here, where you are being forced to do it all over again.Well, it's not all the same. You and him are in a different booth with a different waitress who probably just wants your order and looks just about done with Dallas as you are as he keeps ignoring her asking about his and your orders. You look over at him as he is just staring you down, so you tell her, "Could I get some fries and a strawberry milkshake, please?" Dallas seemed to pay attention as you spoke and looked down at the woman and said, "I want a burger and a lot of fries." You kind of stopped paying attention to him, and the waitress, with whom he keeps flirting, watched as she walked away, and then it was just a blur until the food came.

You sat there, occasionally taking a sip of your milkshake or eating a few fries, as Dallas asked you questions, sometimes about you and how you were doing, but most of them were focused on your sisters. Mary, who is 20, and Bonnie, who is 18, asked some questions that seemed like something a 13-year-old would ask, and some seemed good-hearted, but with Dallas, nearly everything he says has a rude meaning to it.

"So, Dallas, what was your reason to drag me here on this fine day?" You asked him as he made a face at his name and said, "Call me Dally; yes, we have known each other long enough for you to call me that." You began to zone out thinking about the way he said he has known you long enough; does he know you from rumors or from the few encounters the two of you have had, like the one in Boston not long ago... then he said, "So well, I wanted to ask," and you cut him off and said, "This has nothing to do with the party in Boston that you and Buck crashed that was filled with collage hippies and the bra burners. He seemed to laugh at the last comment you made about the new-ish feminist movement that was taking up most college-rich girls' minds at the time. "No, but I saw you at the"

You knew what he was going to say, but did you want to hear him ask about it? You weren't sure, but if he was going to ask questions like that in a place filled with people where anyone could hear them and upset you, you stood up and told him, "That is a private matter that does not concern you." You left the table and stood some what near it but not right at it and continued, "You don't know me, you don't talk to me, and you and I aren't friends." You walked to the door of the diner and then finished off your statement with "stay away from me, Dallas, Winston."

You walked out of the diner in the direction of your father's car, his 1958 Plymouth Fury, that you borrowed to go to the pharmacy, which you haven't gone to or probably won't be able to go to today after this. You could hear the door to the diner open as you made your way over to your father's car."Y/N, come on, you know that you need to talk about this, whether it's with me or someone else, you know that." You were nearly at the car. just a few more steps, but then Dallas grabbed your arm and said, "Look, I know how you feel, my friend Johnny" You cut Dallas off and said, "No, you don't have Dallas." You point your finger in his face, then continue. "You just want to feel good about helping me; you should stop that." I don't need your help."

You walked over to your father's car with Dallas still following, saying, "Look, if you need me for anything, I mean anything, I'm probably at Buck Merrill's or at the Curtis house." You continued to open the car door and turn on the engine, saying, "Well, Dallas, I hope I won't need your help." He just stood there and watched as you drove away.

By the time you got home, your mother was having a nap, and your father must be with her; its a weekend so it was just you and your sisters.you spent the rest of the day sitting at the window just starring out then you went on the roof for a smoke and then week to bed.
