CHAPTER 2
The three of us were running. Sasha was in front. Kelly was right at her heels. She was fast for a 11 year old. I ran behind her occasionally looking back over my shoulder.
I didn't see them. But I heard them.
Sasha skidded to a halt. Kelly bumped into her.
"We need to keep going!" I shouted at Sasha.
"There is nowhere to go!" She cried.
Kelly pointed behind me. "They. They found us!" Sasha wrapped her arms around her sister, Kelly.
I stood in front of them. I had promised their father I would protect them.
There was a loud gun shot. Sasha pushed me out of the way.
Then there was a scream. Kelly had fallen. She was shaking violently. Her shirt was splattered with red. Sasha knelt down next to her sister, and held her hand over her heart.
There were more gun shots. "Sasha we have to go!"
"I can't leave her!" Sasha sobbed over Kelly.
Kelly smiled and let go of Sasha's hand. Her bright blue eyes closed.
"Kelly! No! Kelly come back!" Sasha screamed.
I pulled her up. She leaned into me and cried. I squeezed her hand, and tugged her forward.
"Rowan. We can't leave her." Sasha pleaded as she stumbled behind me.
"She is gone. We can't save her." I said. " If we don't keep going they will do the same to us!"
Sasha was quiet after that. I could hear her whimpering as we ran. I was sad too, but I had to keep her safe now. She was the last living person in her family. That I knew of.
"Rowan watch out!" Sasha warned me.
It was too late. I fell down and felt a horrible pain in my leg. They started to surround us.
"Sasha go! They don't want me, they want you. Now go!" I shouted.
The last thing I remember seeing was Sasha running away, and them surrounding me.
