Shannara "Shay"

I found Sebastian exactly where Professor Weasley had instructed us to meet. He was shifting from foot to foot in front of a statue and glanced around expectantly.

"Hello Sebastian." I said.

"Ah, my new charge." He gave me one of those charming smiles that made my heart do a little tumble. "I'm told you're in dire need of supplies and I am to accompany you into Hogsmeade for them?" I gave him a nod and he continued. "Is this your first foray into the village?" He raised an eyebrow at me.

"It is, I haven't left the castle since I arrived." I was nearly bouncing out of my shoes in anticipation to leave the grounds. Being cooped up in one place was maddening for me. Even a place as big as Hogwarts.

Seemingly picking up on my anxious energy he started walking towards the entrance of the castle with me close on his heels. "Well! I endeavor to be the very best of guides then!" He said giving me  a rare full smile. As if happy to be the one to show me around. "Hogsmeade is a charming little place. Self contained too."

He pushed open the doors to the castle and I felt a nice summer breeze float into the castle. "We should be able to find you everything that you need. " I was awed by the sight of the gardens in front of the castle. The sun was high in the sky and students were all fluttering about. I couldn't help the genuine smile that came to my face as I took it all in. This is magnificent. I thought to myself. As I took in my surroundings I noted that Sebastian was looking at me in a way... Well I wasn't exactly sure how to describe how he was looking at me.

"What is it?" I asked concerned I had done something odd.

"Uh - it-it's nothing..." He stuttered. Bringing his hand to the back of his neck again. "You've got a nice smile is all. Come on we should get going." He quickly turned away from me and started down the path that led north.

"I was glad professor Weasley asked me to join you today." He remarked which made my chest swell slightly.

"As am I." I replied. "Thank you, by the way." I added on.

"Of course! You're the only one that's ever bested me in a duel. The way I see it, I'd be wise to keep an eye on you." For some reason his comment made me frown. I didn't want him seeing me as a rival... I stayed silent for a minute but and he seemed to pick up on the new tension.

"Speaking of Weasley, she seems to have take quite a shine to you." He looked over his shoulder at me.

"Has she? that's nice to hear." I was relieved. After our last conversation I got the sense she didn't believe my lie about my adventure with Professor Fig.

"I'm still surprised that a professor would entrust me with anything." Sebastian chuckled. "Given my detention record."

"Spend a lot of time in detention do you?" I asked amused. Imagining what kind of antics he might have done to earn himself detention.

"Just enough to keep me well-rounded." He flashed another smile my way. He seems to smile a lot at me. I thought. Not that I minded. He had a nice smile. It made his green eyes slightly crinkle in the corners. I could admit I liked looking at him. His soft brown hair was a few shades lighter than mind and it was parted on the side with the longer hair on top styled off to the side. It complimented his oval face nicely.

"Speaking of detention. This little trip may have saved me from another."

"Glad I could be of service."

"Madam Scribner, the librarian was on the hunt for me." He told me. "As is often the case." I thought back to what he had said earlier. About sneaking into the restricted section of the library.
