Tsukishima x Reader ~ confession pt. 2

you packed your bag with everything you needed for homework and studying and took your time over to the gym.

your sibling is the team manager of the Karasuno Boys Volleyball Team, so they had to go to every game, practice, or anything else the team did volleyball related. and since they were your only ride home, you had to stay when they had practices after school. [A/N** i would like to note that kiyoko is not your sibling, or meant to be anyway. i made this thinking it would be some type of AU w/o kiyoko, but you can make her your sibling if that's what your heart desires <3]

and, sure, you could walk home, but before you made it home,
practice would be done and your sibling would probably already catch up to you. so you stayed and waited. besides, Tsukishima says you being there "helps him play better"

you reach the gym and open the door, while the team was half way through warm-ups. great.

you walk around the court to go upstairs to take your usual spot in the bleachers. you place your stuff down and run back down to give a quick hello to your sibling, maybe even catch tsukki before he starts practice? didn't know until you tried.

you raced down the stairs and, careful  yet totally unaware of your surroundings, you give yourself a running start and jump onto your sibling, clinging to them.

"AH!- JESUS- [name]! i told you to stop doing that!"

"i know~ i just remembered that" you replied carefully "i'm sorry" you added with a pout.

"yeah yeah, now off" they say with an eye roll.

you jump off and realize the whole gyms now staring at you two because of your siblings loud scream! you didn't enjoy having too much attention placed onto you, but you just smiled awkwardly and shuffled away slowly.

you almost made it to the stairs, but then you bumped into a rather tall figure, being Tsukishima. you were shocked he was purposefully blocking your way where you would be free of the embarrassment you just faced.

"trying to disappear without giving me a hello?" he said teasingly, but also slightly hurt.

"sorry.." you mumble under your breath, almost even more embarrassed you practically forgot from getting embarrassed! your life's kind of a mess

he chuckles "don't apologize, short stack"

you wanted to say something back, just as teasing and insulting back, but you couldn't. you weren't sure why, but you did do something you wouldn't *normally* do. you hugged him, so un-ironically and out of the blue, but you did.

now, hugs between friends, especially close friends, aren't unusual. just that Tsukishima isn't too.. well *open* to showing off any kind of affection, romantically or platonically. you knew and understood that about him better than most, so hugging while people were *definitely* watching wasn't really normal for the two of you.

"do your best" you whispered, just loud enough for him to hear.

you can tell hes flustered and his face is all red, which makes you internally giggle. he slowly rubs your back with a shaky hand.

"ive- ive gotta go practice now.. uh, but i do need to, tell you something after practice. can you stick around a while?"

"ask my sibling"

"will do.. talk after?"

"of course" you smile, walking back up to the bleachers taking your time as you do so.

Tsukishima went back over to the team and coach, all flustered, confused, and red in the face. everyone, even Coach Ukai wore a smirk as he came back to the group.

"wow i didn't know you pulled Tsukishima!!"

"more like get pulled, Noya"

"quite, shorty"

"HEY DONT TALK TO YOUR SENPAI LIKE THAT-"

"ALRIGHT! that's enough of that, we're gonna start practice now." Ukai declared, everyone listening immediately.

you scribbled the last answer to the question and shut your text book. finally done with all your homework! and just in time as well, for they did their final toss of the night, ending practice.

you make sure you have everything you went there with and walked down to go home. you meet your sibling downstairs and you decide to help with clean-up. when the gym got cleared up with everything put away, you start to walk out with your sibling until Tsukishima taps your shoulder.

"can we talk? like out back?"

"is it that important?" you chuckle, meaning to tease but also ask seriously.

"yeah- kinda"

"o-k then? [sibling name], you're waiting right?"

"of course~"

you didn't like the way they said that, it made you feel unsettled in a way. still you shrugged it off, following Tsukishima outside to the back of the gym, where it was much more private.

"so- what's the thing you needed to say, tsukki?" you had a feeling you already knew what he was gonna say, but you didn't wanna get ahead of yourself.

he swiftly reaches for your hands that stood at your side. his hands were rough from all the volleyball he plays, yet in the delicate way he held your hands in his, they felt soft. once he had your hands, he started to speak.

"i'm not sure exactly how to word this, so i'll just be blunt with it." he took a deep breath in "i like you"

you smiled, you had a feeling he might, but hearing him say it made it all the more better. your smile turned to a smirk when you said

"aww~ does Tsukishima Kei have a little crush?" you teased, not being able to hold it back. you poked at his stomach while you did.

"really? right now? i poured my heart out to you and this is what i get? i'm hurt" he spoke dramatically and turned his head away.

but, that didn't stop your teasing. Tsukishima was actually getting annoyed, as annoyed as he could get with you anyway, and he saw one solution to the problem.

you get cut off by the feeling of soft, warm lips pressing against yours. you were most definitely caught off guard, but you soon got over your shock. you break the kiss off, looking away from him. a smirk mixed with a smile found it's way to his face

"adorable"

"Kei.."

"that's a bit of a new one, huh"

"what, don't like your own name?"

"only like it when you say it~"

you roll your eyes and look back at him. you both get a good 20 seconds of time left together until Nishinoya Yuu comes out, followed slightly after by the team, excitedly cheering that you two finally got together. Tsukishima was trying to get them to shut up, and they weren't supposed the be there. you honestly just found it funny.

when everyone settles down, we say our goodbyes and go our separate ways. you gave Tsukishima one last squeeze before heading in the opposite direction to your siblings car

"call me when you get home?" he asked with a smile

"sure" you smile back
