We were running towards my house. We were like 7 yard away from getting to safety! I quickly peeked over my shoulder and the dogs were gaining on us!
"Its no use! They get 5 steps closer every 3 steps we take! Maria screamed.
"We can do it! We're almost there!(4 yards away) Think of Violet. Do it for her!" I screamed back.
(2 yards away from the porch steps, pit bulls 2 feet away from us)
Just in time we stumbled up the steps, but......on the 4th step Maria's foot got stuck in a crack and she tripped and hit her leg on the next step up! Crack! Violet flew out of Maria's arms up onto the porch. Just as she was about to hit the ground, Katie reached out her arms and caught Violet 3 inches from the floor of the porch! Now the dogs are at the bottem of the steps, not sure if they should come up.
"Oooowwww!!!"Maria screamed out in pain.
"Hurry! We need to get Maria inside before the dogs decide to come up here!" Katie gently, but quickly placed Violet inside my house then crouched down to help me.
We each grabbed one of Maria's arms and pulled with all our strength. We pulled her up and into my house and slammed the door shut!
