Jake Sully had created a mission to defend the Nyala Api from the sky people, and to draw them away from the Ash Territories. The battle hadn't even begun, there was only 3 ships that seemed to be patrolling the Ash Territories. Chief Katu was determined to strike first, Jake couldn't persuade him differently.

Lei was positioned in a high tree, an arrow readied in her bow — Awani by her side. Rain was coming down hard, it was accompanied by thunder and lighting. Lei and Awani's war paint had been greatly smudged, but it continued to stain their skin. Jake suddenly came in over the comms, "Stand by, enemy ship has changed course."

Lei's eyes opened wildly, she snapped her gaze to Awani's face. Their heart beats picked up and their breath hitched, they had been silently camping in the tree for hours. They had been hearing explosions every so often, they believed this to be the last ship remaining.

"Atk'ina, Uloka, enemy ship in bound. Fall back now." Jake ordered urgently.

"Over, falling back." Awani replied. She looked at Lei, "Come on." She began climbing down hurriedly. Lei remained sat, she bit the inside of her cheek. "Lei this is serious." She grabbed her hand.

"We could end this—"

"No Lei, we can't." Awani shook her head.

"I said fall back now ship in bound." Jake repeated sternly.

The large machine now came into the view of the two teenage girls, Lei's heart dropped. "Falling back." She shakily replied into the comms as she pressed the two button like bumps on her throat.

These small devices were brought by the Omatikaya, they were used as radios for the Na'vi.

"Thank you." Awani huffed a relieved breath, continuing to climb downwards. Lei followed her.

"Lei where are you?" Palhar urgently questioned her through the comms.

"Westbound, we're falling back." Lei replied, her and Awani began running towards the village.

The huge ship flew overhead, suddenly coming to a halt. "Hide." Lei whisper-yelled, she suddenly crawled under a large tree trunk with elevated roots. The two girls swiftly took cover under the roots, Lei readied an arrow in her bow.

Awani readied an arrow as well.

2 men in AMP suits dropped down from the giant air craft, Lei clenched her jaw as she tightened her grip on her bow.

Lei met eyes with her best friend, they shared the same expression.

"Two AMP's released from aircraft." Lei quietly relayed into the comms.

The two human-like machines approached closer, Lei pulled back her arrow behind her shoulder. She suddenly shot into one of the machine's windshields, missing the operator.

Awani followed her lead, shooting another arrow into the same AMP. This time the machine went down, the other remaining still before shooting into random directions. The AMP clumsily dropped it's weapon.

Palhar suddenly came into view, shooting at the remaining machine. Lei's stomach lurched as she scrambled out of the twisted roots.

Awani followed, attempting to shoot an arrow into the windshield again.

"STOP!" Lei yelled.

"GET BACK!" Palhar bellowed.

Lei stood idle, holding her loaded bow. Awani was positioned behind her.

The AMP stood, he was speaking into what seemed to be a radio.

Lei quickly displayed her fangs towards the machine as she shot an arrow aimed towards the human's face. Awani continued to divert the attention of the Sky People, firing repeatedly.
