We called the sheriff to report what had happened, that Bill Carlton was gone. He came out with a few Deputies, we gave statements and waited as they sonar swept the lake and cam back with no boat and no Bill Carlton. This had taken some time and by the time they were done it was late afternoon. We were told to head for the station and meet Sheriff Devins there.
Once we made it to the station with the Sheriff in tow we all got out of our cars and he pointed inside and let us take the lead. We walked in and we were met by Andrea. "Sam, Dean, Katie." she said standing up, putting whatever she was holding on the chair next to Lucas who was rocking back and forth. "I didn't expect to see you here."
"So now you're on a first-name basis. What are you doing here?" Jake asked us. I heard he's Andrea's dad.
"I brought you dinner." she said indicating the plastic container she just set down.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart, I don't really have the time." he replied shaking his head.
"I heard about Bill Carlton. Is it true? Is something going on with the lake?" Andrea asked.
"Right now we don't know what the truth is. But I think it might be better if you and Lucas went on home." Jake told his daughter. Like someone flipped a switch, Lucas looked up with a whine, looking upset and scared. He jumped up and grabbed mine, and Dean's arms tugging on them slightly.
"Lucas, hey what is it?" Dean asked reaching down to lightly touch his shoulder. Lucas just continued to pull on our arms
"Lucas." I said. Bending over with Dean so we could look at him.
"Lucas." this was Andrea. She cam up behind him and took hold of him lightly.
"Lucas, it's okay, everything's fine." I tried.
"Hey, Lucas, Katie's right. It's okay. It's okay." Dean tried this time. Lucas' grip slightend, in what seemed like defeat and Andrea pulled him away from us and began to take him outside. Lucas never looked away from Dean and I looking scared. Jake made his way to his office, the boys and I followed. Jake sat at his desk.
"Okay, just so I'm clear, you see...something attack Bill's boat, sending Bill—who is a very good swimmer, by the way—into the drink, and you never see him again?" Jake asked us.
"Yeah, that about sums it up." Dean responded.
"And I'm supposed to believe this, even though I've already sonar-swept that entire lake? And what you're describing is impossible? And you're not really Wildlife Service?" Jake shot back. I closed my eyes and sighed mentally. Opening them again I saw the looks of surprise on the brothers faces.
"That's right, I checked. Department's never heard of you two. And I have no idea who the hell you are." the last part was directed at me. As I hadn't met the sheriff until now.
"Would you believe me if I told you I was just a bystander?" I asked somewhat jokingly. He didn't looked very amused. "Okay...guess that's a no."
"See, now, we can explain that." Dean tried to interject.
"Enough. Please. The only reason you're breathing free air is one of Bill's neighbors saw him steering out that boat just before you did. So, we have a couple of options here. I can arrest you for impersonating government officials, and assisting those impersonating the officials, and hold you as material witnesses to Bill Carlton's disappearance. Or, we can chalk this all up to a bad day, you get into your car, you put this town in your rearview mirror, and you don't ever darken my doorstep again." Jake said rather darkly.
"Door number two sounds good." Sam told him.
"That's the one I'd pick." Jake replied.
We quietly made our way out to the impala and headed back to the hotel to gather our things, and prepare to leave town.

After all of our things were gathered we were sitting in the Impala waiting at a green light to take I43 to Milwaukee. I was looking out the window. It was quiet in the car. "Green." Sam said, I looked out the windshield and saw that the light was indeed green.
"What?" Dean asked.
"Light's green." I told him. We began moving only to turn right.
"Uh, the interstate's the other way." Sam told him I looked at Dean and smiled.
"He knows."  I replied.
"But Dean, this job, I think it's over." Sam told his older brother.
"I'm not so sure." Dean replied.
"If Bill murdered Peter Sweeney and Peter's spirit got its revenge, case closed. The spirit should be at rest." Sam tried again.
"All right, so what if we take off and this thing isn't done? You know, what if we've missed something? What if more people get hurt?" Dean asked.
"Sam, he has a point." I put in.
"But why would you think that?" Sam asked the both of us.
"Because Lucas was really scared." Dean admitted. I nodded my agreement.
"That's what this is about?" Sam asked surprised.
"I just don't want to leave this town until I know the kid's okay." Dean stated.
"Who are you? And what have you done with my brother?" Sam demanded. I smiled at his question. Dean glanced over at Sam.
"Shut up." he grumbled in response.

We made our way to Andrea's house. Wanting to check up on Lucas and his mother. Making our way to the door, Sam stepped in front of Dean and I, "Are you sure about this? It's pretty late, man." Sam asked. Ignoring, his little brother Dean reached forward and rang the doorbell. At that exact moment the door flung open to reveal a terrified Lucas who was breathing heavily.
"Lucas? Lucas!" Dean asked. The kid tore off down the hall and we all followed. He lead us upstairs where water was flowing from the closed bathroom door which Lucas began pounding furiously on. Dean rushed forward and pulled Lucas away from the door. Sam kicked open the door, he and I rushed in. The bathtub was full of murky lake water, and we could only assume Andrea was in the tub. Sam rushed forward and reached into the bathtub and attempted to pull Andrea out. It was not an easy task as it seemed something was holding her down. Her head breached the water but her face got yanked back under. I rushed to Sam's side and plunged my hands into the water and grabbed hold of Andrea as well, we both started to pull. Until she was fully out, the three of us fell to the floor. Andrea coughing up water. I reached out for the nearest towel and wrapped it around her as she caught her breath. I turned to look at Dean and Lucas in the hall both eyes wide and Lucas' full of terror.
