One day when they boy was sitting at home playing his game with his friend his mother came home. HIs mother was on the phone while trying to hold back tears. The boy instantly knew something was very bad. His mother couldn't detach herself from her phone. The person on the phone was saying someone was in the hospital. In that moment she fell to the floor and she started sobbing. She told the boy they had to go and told him to quickly pack his things.

The boy stood there in silence watching his mother cry. He didn't know who it was or what happened but seeing his mother like that broke something within him. Almost like a gear in him had stopped turning as it should. When he returned with his things they quickly got into the truck. When they started to drive away she told him that.. his aunt... had passed away. The boy not knowing what say or feel, sat and looked out the window at the sky. He didn't believe that his happiness was gone.

They both burst into tears for the entire ride back home. When they arrived back at the boys other aunt's home, they saw many people that had been waiting for them. His aunt's boyfriend was sitting in silence on the couch in the corner. the boy asked if everyone was ok but he got no reply. They all talked about the funeral and what they would do with her things.(I have a really hard time remembering this part.)

They boy had one thought during this time and that was to make sure everyone was ok. So the boy talked with his aunt's boyfriend, Doug and told him how it wasn't his fault and how he wanted him to remain part of his family. The boy did everything he could to help those who were sad, but forgot about himself when he was talking to everyone else.

When the boy attended the funeral he still did his best to keep everyone from crying as he knew his aunt wouldn't want them all to be sad. Even when he saw her body he didn't cry, instead he threw peppermints at his cousin and laughed about it. In that moment his other aunt's boyfriend told him he was being annoying and needed to stop and respect everyone at the funeral. This cause the boy to snap and rush out of the room before he said something he shouldn't have. How could he ever understand how i felt the boy thought.

The boy noticed one of his aunt's friends outside and walked up to them. He asked how they were since he hadn't seen them in a while and was worried about them. He did everything he could to distract them and himself from what was happening inside. After a minute everyone inside came out so they could leave. He told his aunt's friends goodbye and wished them the best before leaving with his mother.

When the boy arrived at his aunts home which he spent so much time in and even helped his aunt choose. He saw everyone inside taking her stuff like vultures. He didn't want anything in that house, but they still forced him to take her things. They said that the boy should have most of it because he was liker her child and deserved it. This statement tore at the boys heart for he had no idea how to feel anymore. The boy thought about all the items they were taking, they were not there's to take. All the boy wanted was to fade off the earth and leave it all behind.

The boy later saw Doug and some girl were having sex in the same house. the boy didn't know how to feel about the betrayal. Despite seeing this he didn't blame anyone. The boy still loved him and forgave him for what he had done inside his home.

The boy spent months back at home dealing with what happened. He didn't go outside much and didn't feel many emotions either. The boy became someone he didn't know anymore. Everyday he would do nothing but play games and would often skip school. Despite how empty he felt he still did his best to make sure the people around him were happy.
