Chapter 4: Zero

"So tell me how old are you really Faith?" Dan asked me, taking the fact I could kill him at any point not so seriously. "I'm a lot older than you Dan." I smirked. "Put it this way I'm 601. But I died at 23." Just as I finished their was a knock on my door. "I'll get it!" I said then ran to the door and answered it. A boy with blue hair stood in my doorway. "Zero?" It was Zero Patience's real brother. "Hey." He spoke calmly. "Oh My God! What are you doing here?!?" I hug him and he spins me around. "I got a chance to study at Cambridge University. So I thought I would visit you. But it seems you have company." All attention was diverted to Dan. "Hi. I'm Dan. Faith's Boyfriend." Did he just say he was my boyfriend? "Zero. Her adopted sisters brother and her ex boyfriend." I felt things starting to get awkward so I change the subject. "Zero? What are you studying at CU?" "Music. Masters degree." He replied, staring at Dan. "I better go." Zero said before kissing my cheek. I felt his lips touch my cheek. "Hey!" I heard Dan shout from behind me. "Don't do that! She is my girlfriend not yours!" Next thing I knew Dan had punched Zero in the face and hurt is hand. I stood in front of Dan protecting him from Zero. "Zero! Back down! Don't change! I'll kill you to protect Dan!" As I said these words Zero had changed into his wolf form and he clawed me to the side and was heading to Dan. "Come on you fury beast!" Dan shouted. I shot out my hand and held Zero by the throat. "Don't touch him. Ever. Do you hear me?" "Yeah" he struggled. "What do you see in him he is just a human. I'm a wolf." I saw a tear roll down Dan's cheek he knew that I was different and I could go out with other supernatural beings like Zero but there was something about Dan that I loved. "He is different. He is destined for greatness. He won't be like that for long. I have seen his future." I let Zero go. "Leave." Zero ran away and then it was my and Dan. "Faith? What do you mean?" Dan asked me touching my arms gently. "Huh?" I ask. "I just received word from my mother and she says you won't be human for long. She has seen your future." I explain to him. He hugs me. "I love you. I don't care if you could kill me at any moment I trust you, Faith. Will you be my girlfriend?" I smirk. "I thought we already were? I mean you did tell Zero that?" He chuckles. "I got jealous sorry." He looked down on me slightly. I kissed his nose. "I love you and I am glad you are my first lover in over 600 years. I love you." He claimed my lips passionately and lifted me to his apartment and took me to his bedroom. That night I found the meaning of love. I spent the night at Dan's apartment.
