"Did you see the new teacher?" Harry asked me.

"Yeah, he looks kind of strange." I muttered, making sure no one else, especially the new teacher heard me.

"What's his name again?" Ron asked, his mouth full of food.

I looked at him disgusted, "Swallow your food first, Ronald. His name is Professor Moody."

"I cant believe he's taken over Defence Against The Dark Arts class. Snape is going to be fuming." Harry said.

"I know, I'm so used to Snape's teaching. Although, I'm excited to see how his classes play out." I smirked, drinking my tea.

That afternoon, I had DADA and walked with Bea to our class. We got there and found out there was a seating arrangement already made for us.

I looked at Bea, my eyebrow raised and she looked devastated knowing we wouldn't be sat next to each other anymore. Bea was placed next to George and I was sat next to Neville Longbottom. I looked behind me to see who was sat there and turns out it was Fred. He had an empty seat next to him until I heard an agitating, excruciating noise which happened to be Selena's voice. I rolled my eyes and turned back around.

"Good afternoon, class." Moody started off by saying. He observed each of us individually as the register was being done. Professor Snape came into the class to take the register one last time as our DADA teacher.

He got to my name which caused Moody to look up from the floor and burn his eyes on to me.

"Rivers? As in Azkaban Rivers?" He asked.

Everyone looked at me, it was dead silent you could almost hear a pin drop.

"Yes, sir." I cleared my throat.

"So, this should be your favourite class should it not?" He smirked.

I stayed quiet.

"Tell me, do you think your dad should be in Azkaban?"

I stayed quiet again.

"I'm speaking to you, child!" He shouted.

"Yes."

"Yes, what?"

"Yes, sir. I do believe he deserves to be there." I said, gritting my teeth. My jaw was clenched and so were my fists, I can't remember the last time I was relaxed in this class.

"That's enough, Professor Moody." Snape sneered.

Soon enough, Snape finished off the register and left the classroom. He gave one last look at me before leaving and didn't say a word.

"Now that he's gone. Today we will be learning about the unforgivable curses. Anyone familiar with that?" He asked, keeping his eyes on me.

He pointed at Hermione and asked her the name of one of the curses.

"The imperious curse, sir. It allows you to take full control of someone else's body and they'll do whatever you want them to."

"Yes, well done Miss Granger."

He then pointed at Neville, next to me.

"Uh- The cruciatus curse, sir." He muttered, keeping his eyes on the desk.

"That's right. Crucio!" He shouted, pointing his wand at a spider in a jar.

Everyone's mouths were open, it's an unforgivable curse he just used in the classroom. The classroom full of students. We all watched as we saw the spider squirm in pain, letting out noises.
