It was a typical Monday. My boring mathematics teacher was droning on about Algebra while I tried to concentrate and failed miserably. My best friend, Zack, passed a note to me:
"Dude, Hayley is checking you out. You got game!"
I jerked my head towards her. There was no mistaking it. She was looking at me. I got butterflies in my stomach from just thinking about her. Omg Omg Omg. My mind went haywire. I tried to play it cool by smiling at her.
She smiled back.
I couldn't get my eyes off her after that. My mind went into day dreaming mode. And, "Mr. Gray what do you think is the answer to question number seven?" I jerked back and stared blankly at my teacher. "Uh, it's Aristotle... Sir..."
The class burst out laughing. Even Hayley was laughing.
"Mr. Gray I think it would be better if you paid attention. Maybe, if you did that you might do a bit better than a B-grade.
---
"Ugh man I hate Mr. Richards. That idiot is so annoying. Why did HE have to be our mathematics teacher this semester?"
Zack laughed and commented
"Maybe, if you weren't drooling thinking about Hayley, you could have answered that question"
"Cut me some slack man. We both know she's beautiful"
I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around. It was Hayley.
"Hey!"
"Uh.. Hi"
"You free today? At about 7"
"Yeah I guess. I got tuition at 5 and then I'll be free"
"Wanna hangout?
"Sure, Gimme a call"
"Alright, it's a date!"
She smiled and walked away. Zack looked at me smirking. I pushed him away playfully.

I got home a bit late that afternoon. I was playing basketball you know. I went to my mom and hugged her.
"Welcome back sweetie, How was your day?"
"It was GREAT mum"
The TV was on. The news was still airing the latest investigation on the recent victim of The Butcher. The details are really gruesome. Apparently, the sick freak likes to mutilate their victims while they are still alive.
"I wonder how many people have died to that ruthless monster" My mother said.
"Let's not think about that mum. There are many maniacs in this world. He's just one of them. He will get caught eventually and pay for his crimes."
"You're right..."
I went back up to my room and changed. Combed my hair and checked my breath. All fresh for the date!
I looked at the clock. 3 mins to 7. Almost time for the date! My phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Are you ready?"
"Yes!"
"Great! Let's meet up at the park. I'll be there in 5"
I got in my bike and drove off to the park. It was getting a bit dark. So the street lights were on. I parked my bike and got off, waiting at a bench. The park was empty. She should be here any moment now...
5 minutes passed, 10 minutes, 15.... An hour passed. I called her, no response.
My face fell. Did I get stood up on? That's not possible Hayley won't...
Another 20 minutes passed.... I accepted the fact that i got stood up on and went for my bike.
*SHICK*
"Huh?" I looked at the where my hand should have been but instead there was a bleeding wrist. My hand was on the floor covered with my blood.
There was no pain. Only silence... My dread grew. I tried to scream but no sound came out. I now knew...
The Butcher is here.
