My latest assignment was to infiltrate a criminal organization that was suspected of planning a major attack on a major city. My cover was as a wealthy business tycoon who was interested in investing in their illicit operations.
It was a dangerous assignment, but I was confident in my skills. I spent weeks building my cover and gaining the trust of the organization's leaders. I even went so far as to participate in some of their illegal activities to prove my loyalty.
But then, something happened that made me question everything. One of the organization's members, who had been friendly with me, was found dead.
It looked like a murder, and I couldn't help but wonder if the organization had found out about my true identity and was trying to silence me.
