Flirting with the Devil

Chapter 2

When we were finished eating Maria cleared the table, leaving me wondering what to do next. I couldn’t just leave Sebastian alone but I didn’t want to be alone with him. He just sat there looking at me nervously, making me even more anxious then I was before. Luckily I came up with a plan that sounded like fun and I wouldn’t have to be alone with him

“Do you know how to surf?” I asked.

“No I don’t but I would like to learn, it looks like fun,” Sebastian answered, smiling politely at me. I took a look at his eyes and realized that they were the same dark brown as when I first saw him and shook my head without thinking.

“What’s wrong?” he asked as the smile on his face disappeared and turned into a worried frown.

“Nothing, you just surprise me. Come on lets go, I’ll show you how it’s done,” I answered, hoping he didn’t notice how strange he made me feel.

We went upstairs to change into our bathing suits and then we headed for the pool house. I borrowed him one of my surfboards and we set off down the steps that walked onto the beach. I didn’t take my eyes off of him as we walked, I still felt a strange vibe coming from him but I just couldn’t place it. Sebastian had a long tanned body that fit perfectly with his face. His body was toned and in shape but he didn’t have a visible six pack like most surfers and I couldn’t help but wonder if he was just saying that he wanted to surf because I asked or if he really wanted to.

I threw my beach bag and towel on the sand and walked towards the waves with Sebastian following close by.

“I love the ocean, it is so beautiful,” he said, gazing at the ocean like he’s never seen it before.

“Have you never been to the beach before?” I asked, curiously.

“No, I’ve only seen it on TV,” he replied still gazing at the water. I thought that it was strange that he’s never seen the ocean before but decided to just keep my mouth shut.

“Ok let’s go,” I said, running towards the ocean.

I explained to Sebastian what to do and then we started surfing. I saw him falling off of his board a few times but soon lost track of him as I got lost in the waves. I started getting tired after about an hour and decided to head back to the shore, figuring that Sebastian would probably be waiting for me but he wasn’t. I put down my surfboard and grabbed a towel as I started scanning the nearby area to see where he was but I couldn’t see him anywhere. His stuff was still with mine so I figured that maybe he just went back to the house for something or maybe he was just exploring and would be back soon so I sat down waiting for him.

I watched the other surfers riding the waves and saw something I didn’t expect. Sebastian was still busy surfing and it looked like he’s been doing it forever. He caught every wave without falling off and was doing tricks I couldn’t even do. He must have surfed for another half an hour before he started heading back to the beach. I kept my eyes on him, not quit believing what I was seeing.

As he climbed off of his board and started walking towards me I noticed his six pack and then I realized that he didn’t have one earlier. I blinked my eyes and when I looked at him again the six pack was gone. There was something really strange about Sebastian.
