What just happened?

We were having dinner with Carlos' parents, everything was delicious. The wedding is just a week away, everyone is exited.
It's passed 11, me and dad have a shift but I asked Tommy if I could be a little late.
My dad gets up " I'm gonna get going, because duty calls, thank you so much Andrea it was delicious"
He says bye to everyone,
"Tk do you need a ride??"
"Nop, I asked Tommy if I could be a little late and she said yes so Carlos will leave me when we go"
"Ok, see you then"

We clean everything that Andrea let us, and we said goodbye
We were on our way to the station, Carlos driving and me putting some music.
"So tomorrow is the selection for the flowers, remember?"he says
" Yeah, at what time is it?"
" At five" " do you have something in mind?"
"I don't know, something not to big or something simple, what about you?"
" I agree, some—"
Suddenly a car hit us from the right, I can see everything in slow motion, I try to reach for Carlos but then we hit another car from the other side.
I can't see anything for a second and everything hurts. I look for Carlos but he's face is looking out, what just happened?.
" Carlos" I coughed " Carlos, babe you ok?
I got no answer, I start to panic, I need to do something.
Everything hurts.
I need help, we need help, I start to panic, I grab my phone and call 911.
" 911 what's your emergency?"
" I need help someone hit our car, he's not responding"
" Ok can you tell me your name?"
" I-I'm TK"
" Tk? It's me Grace, can you tell me where you are?"
" Grace, Carlos is not responding, I don't know where we are, I wasn't paying attention" *coughs*
"Ok sweetheart, I'm tracking your phone, can you check Carlos' pulse?"
"Yeah, I think so" *grunts* I reach Carlos but everything hurts so much, it's like I can't feel my right arm but at the same time hurts like hell. Carlos' has a pulse which brings me a great relief.
" His pulse is weak, I can't see if he's breathing"
" Ok help is on the way, I'm sending the 126, they're close"
"Ok, ok" "The other people in the other car, I-I think *coughs* they need help too"
" Ok, help is almost there, TK can you tell me where yo are hurt?"
" I don't know, I- ahhh!"
" Tk, talk to me"
" it hurts" I cry
"What hurts baby?"
" Ah, everything" " I don't feel good"
" Tk hold on a little longer, help is arriving"
I tried to take a breath but it just gets me coughing more. I reach for Carlos again, but this time I can't feel his pulse, I try again but nothing.
" Grace, Grace I can't feel his pulse" I said panicking
" They're almost there"
" Carlos!, baby please, Carlos, please, please, stay with me, stay- babe"I sobbed. And then I heard the sirens.
