A Deal with the Devil herself

 *time skip*

It's been about eight months and we have gotten away from enforcers a couple times now. We all were chilling in the room we have under the bar, "I'm gonna go for a run in a few I need fresh air," I say and Vi looks at me, "I'll go with you," everyone else says and I smile. I walk out with Vi behind me last to leave, "let's see who can run up on roofs the fastest," Mylo says. I smirk, "challenge accepted," I say. Within two hours we are running from enforcers, "nice going Mylo," Vi says and he just rolls his eyes. We reach a jump where the houses are far apart, "ocean I'm scared," my sister raven says, "don't think just jump, you can make it," I say. She nods her head, and she backs up and jumps, thankfully Clag was on the other side that he caught her for me. I look at Vi and we both nod but then there was a shot. I look down, "they are shooting at us," she says, and I swallow, "I am right behind you love," she says, and I smile and nod my head. We both getting into running and as I jump, I feel a sting in my leg and when I land, I fall backwards.

As I am falling, I can see Vi's face with horror as she screams my name, "keep going don't come back for me," I say as she starts to tear up. I close my eyes and wait for the impact of the fall. I land on a dumpster and then on to the floor. I play dead and thankfully the enforcers believe it and run off. I sigh and just lay on the cold floor when I feel arms lifting me up, "what the- I told you to leave me," I say and Vi looks at me stern, "I will never leave you behind Ocean. Never," she says, and I smile and lay my head down on her shoulder. We all walk into dad's bar and when we walk through the door everyone stops and rushes to us. They try taking me from Vi's arms, but she just looks at them, "they just want to help Vi," Vander says. Vi sighs and sets me down, "tell me what happened," he says, and I can see Vi's jaw clenched so I reach for her hand and hold it while she sits next to me, "we were roof running when one of the roof shackles on a house came off and it fell next to the enforcers. We started to run which was possibly a mistake," I say, and Vander nods his head.

I can feel Vi tighten her grip on my hand and I take my thumb and rub the back of her hand, "when we got to a large gap between houses, everyone but me and vi were on the other side when they started shooting at us," I say and Vander stops, "they shot at you?" he asks and we all nod our heads, "when me and Vi jumped I felt a sting in my leg and I got hit. It was a graze, but it is pretty deep," I finish. Vander nods his head, "very deep and close enough it would have been a through and through. You need stitching and can't put a lot of pressure, but you can still walk," he says and Vi speaks up, "I can carry her where she needs to go," she says and I shake my head, "no. you don't need to do that I am fine," I say and she grabs my other hand, "you are not fine Ocean. You got shot, I don't need to, I want to," she finishes and walks off. I sigh as they all leave except Powder and I sit while Vander is finishing with my leg, "you can just tell her you know," powder says and I shake my head, "I can't do that. I can't lose her as a friend," I say.

Vander smiles, "I don't think you will ever lose Vi, Ocean," he says, and powder nods her head, I sigh, "I don't know how to tell her," I say. Vander finishes my leg and I sigh, "that fucking hurt a lot," I say, and he chuckles, "I would recommend staying off of it for at least a month then slowly work to putting pressure on it," he says, and I nod my head. I stood up and was about to hop when I feel myself get picked up again. I met eyes that have worry all in them, "I got you," Vi says and I smile and nod my head. When we get into the room, she puts me on the bed we share and I get trampled by hugs, "guys I am fine. I just got grazed by it," I tell them, and I look at my sister and she has tears in her eyes. I motion her over to me and pull her in, "Raven, I am fine. I will be ok," I tell her, and she nods her head. I watch them all go back to their spots, and I lay down with my book sketching some tattoos I want when I'm older, "can you draw me one?" Vi asks and I nod my head, "what did you have in mind for a theme?" I ask and she shrugs. I chuckle and tap my pencil to my mouth, "oh what about steampunk?" I say and she smiles and nods her head. I smile and start drawing and after about 2 hours I think I came up with a good idea of it. She was sitting on the chair half asleep, so I get up and hop over to her, and I touch her shoulder. She looks up at me wide eye and pulls me onto her lap, "what you were thinking you could have injured yourself more," she says, and I roll my eyes, "I can hop around silly plus you were peaceful I didn't want to disturb you. I finished the sketch," I say, and she smiles, "can I see?" she asks and I nod my head. When I show her, she looks at it shocked, "ocean this is beautiful thank you I love it," she says as she admires the drawing more.
