Turns out, that time had already come. A few weeks later, Sybil realized that she was already pregnant and had been even during that very conversation and the war. 6 months later she gave birth to a baby girl who she sensed was 100% witch. They named her Emerald Selene after the two things that had brought Sybil and Ethan together. Had it not been for Selene and her creations, and had it not been for the Emerald Coven, Ethan and Sybil never would have found and accepted each other.
And, just as Ethan promised, he continued to successfully get Sybil pregnant for several years after. 10 months later, they had a son who was full werewolf, Ethan Jr., or EJ. Then came Gus, named after his Uncle August, who was a hybrid. Next were Forest and Freeda, hybrid twins.
Five years later, Ethan and Sybil found themselves with two five-year-olds, a four-year-old, a three-year-old, and twin two-year-olds. They were completely outnumbered by their children who were already showing signs of being high energy, restless, and mischievous werewolves and witches.
They were able to raise their children inside a full coven with witches and warlocks that had come from all over the country to join the legendary Emerald Coven. Sybil's new brothers and sisters came from all walks of life but they had one thing in common, they all knew tragedy; unimaginable tragedy. Together, they healed as a family.
And there was no telling how large that family would grow or how many more tiny feet would run through their cottage. The ancestors of the Emerald Coven had granted Sybil one miracle for resurrecting the coven and for moving against the Council. They granted her the ability to make Ethan immortal so the two of them would never have to part. With a single spell she was able to brand Ethan's neck with a mark of her own, a mark that gave him eternal life. Ethan and Sybil's love story would never know an end.
Josie and August kept their promise, visiting every single summer. They spent a week at Emerald Coven in June and then left Kade, Kol, and Kass there for the summer. In August, Ethan and Sybil returned the kids and stayed at Crescent Moon for a week. They planned for their visits to increase now that Ethan and Sybil's children were old enough to play with their cousins.
They both wanted their werewolf children to experience living in a pack to normalize it as much as possible. They had every intention of sending them to Crescent Moon when they turned 16 to train and then learn to control their wolves when they shifted at 18; if they shifted. Of course, they had no way of knowing if their hybrid children would fully shift into a wolf or not, only time would tell.
Ethan and Sybil were proud of the family they had created, proud of the war they had fought five years before, proud of the oven they built, and proud of the bond they had cherished with each other. They were the embodiment of everything the Council stood against and the packs of the four corners stood for. Their children would know a world of peace and kindness, instead of one riddled with segregation and hate against what they were.
All because a Beta fell in love with a witch.
