"But your highness..." Goryo began but the heavily bearded young man sitting across him held out his hand to cut him off.

"No one will know and you would not be implicated as long as you pretend to know nothing," Winfred Kyle Alejandro known in public as Prince Win the benevolent talked in a smooth, even tone befitting someone of such lofty stature.

"I don't want to get in trouble, your highness," Goryo twiddled his thumbs nervously as he eyed his grooming instruments laid on the dresser.

"You will not get in trouble as long as you follow my instructions. I have planned this for years and I am not going to fail," Win said with fierce determination as he rubbed his bearded chin.

"I have a family, your highness. I can't lose my job," Goryo pleaded as he slid to his knees in front of the seated royal.

"Tsk, you would never understand how it feels to be trapped in a loveless marriage because you are free to choose who to love," Win clicked his tongue in annoyance at the man he expected to understand his predicament since he practically grew up before the old barber's eyes.

"You could choose to fall in love with the princess, your highness. She is educated and pretty..." Goryo began but was silenced by a sharp glare from the young prince.

"And also conceited, petty, pretentious, damn I could go on and on but if you won't help me, I would understand. It's not your problem anyway," Win sighed sadly as he turned around on the swivel chair to face the dresser's large mirror.

Goryo felt a lump in his throat at the sight of the usually brash prince looking so lost and helpless on his barber's chair. He has served the prince ever since he was old enough to need a shave. He has been like the son he never had so he easily tugs at the barber's heartstrings.

"I have an idea, your highness, but it wouldn't be easy," Goryo began as he started snipping off the edges of the prince's hair.

"Anything would be easier than tying me up with that woman for the rest of my life. Let's hear your plan," Win said grimly as he stared at his reflection and saw a young man who looked like he was going to the gallows instead of getting engaged. A man who has nothing to lose is the most dangerous person. He thought fiercely as he listened intently to the barber's suggestion.
