All five of the boys jumped out of the van, attacking me with hugs and showering me with warm greetings. Once they all let go, Harry personally embraced me and said, "It's great to see you again. I've missed you."
"Harry it's been maybe what, twelve hours?"
"Yes, but I missed seeing your beautiful face." Harry winked a green eye.
"I'm flattered, thanks, Harry." I smiled widely.
"Please, call me Hazza." He took my hand and helped me into the van. Once we started driving, the boys started talking. Liam asked, "Where do you plan on showing us around today?"
"Well, I was thinking that we could go to the Renaissance Center and climb to the top...and the Detroit Historical Museum is really neat, too. But we can go wherever you guys want to go. I turned to the security guard, Paul, for approval.
"May I suggest you go to Hart Plaza? It's not very croweded during the day, and you can get a great view of the Detroit River." Of course. I had to remember that I really shouldn't show the boys around places where there would be a lot of people.
"Oh yeah, I saw that place from our hotel room," Zayn commented. "It looks pretty peaceful."
The conversation ceased as we pulled into Veronica"s driveway. We all hopped out and made our way to her porch. The boys rang the doorbell and I hid behind them. The door opened and they said in synch, "Hello, we're One Direction!" Harry then allowed me to come up in front of them.
"See, I told you I wasn't lying!" I teasingly said to her.
Veronica's mouth was wide open. She then said, "Wow...hi guys" Her smile lit up her whole face and her brown eyes sparkled. She looked so beautiful, her shiny brunette hair gathered in a fishtail braid over her shoulder. She glanced at Niall and her cheeks turned pink. She suddenly appeared a bit shy.
Louis lightly pushed Niall forward. "Say something," he whispered under his breath. Harry chuckled.
Niall, too, came across as shy at the moment. He leaned closer towards Veronica and stuttered, "Uh, would you, um, like to spend the day with me--I mean, um, us?" He offered his slightly shaking hand to her.
Veronica soulfully looked into his eyes and smiled. "I would love to," she murmured. He then flashed his pearly whites and we all walked to the van

About twenty minutes later, we were greeted by the impressive buildings and skyscrapers of Downtown Detroit. Paul got out first and opened the door for us. Two more big bodyguards emerged from a hotel. They'd be staying with us for the day.
During the car ride, Liam had called the Detroit Historical Museum and reserved the place for the day just for us ten. We began to walk across a large walking area to reach the museum. I was a little surprised when Harry took my hand, but then felt much at ease as we continued to stroll together. I glance over at Veronica and Niall. Their hands, too, were entwined, and he was asking questions for her to quietly answer. I looked behind me. Liam gave me the thumbs-up sign, which made Zayn and Louis laugh. I bashfully looked away, wondering if Harry saw that. But he didn't appear to have noticed, for he didn't say anything about it, just leaned down and said, "I love spending time with you," His lips brushed my cheek, and I thought that nothing could ruin this moment.
Then the girls came. Not all at once, though. They came in small groups at a time, running and screaming and holding out their phones. Paul and the other guards made sure that any crazy fans were held back. Every time a girl came up and asked for an autograph or a picture, Harry would say, "Sure," and smile warmly at the camera lens or sign a book. Niall would do the same thing , until a few minutes of doing this he then put his arm around Veronica and said, "Sorry guys, but I've got a museum to explore." Zayn gave a few more signatures to the girls before following Niall's lead. Louis blew a few kisses to the crowds, yelling, "Peace out Detroit!" Then he ran into the museum.
Five hours later, we approached the lobby. Paul had left to go get the van, so we quietly waited. It was so fun, running through the cobblestone street display and seeing reinactments of Detroit history. The boys seemed fascinated, expecially Harry. What I loved the most, though, is that he never let go of my hand the entire time.
And he was still holding it as we were waiting in the lobby. Louis was peering out the tinted windows for the van. "Holy shit! There are so many girls out there it's unbelievable. They found us so quickly!" he commented. We all nodded, listening to the sounds of screaming and chaotic chatter.
One of the bodyguards, Joe, was talking in a walkie-talkie. He said to us, "The van is ready." Mark, the other guard, pushed open the doors and widened his arms in attempt to block off the crazy fans. Harry linked his arm through mine as we fairly ran to the vehicle. Niall had both arms around Veronica and protected her from the angry looks of girls who were there. About fifty flashes blinded my eyes. I gulped. The Paparazzi found us, taking pictures and asking questions: "Harry, Niall, who are these girls? Are you dating these girls?" The fans also yelled, "Who is she? Harry! Niall! What the fuck? Oh my god..." The noise was deafening. I loooked up at Harry. He seemed so focused, not paying attention to all the fans and the questions. He ignored the photographers, didn't say a word.
When we got in the car, me and Veronica exhaled. That experience was so surreal! She said, "Well, don't be suprised if we show up on the Internet tomorrow."
"Yep, it'll be weird to see me all over Twitter," I nervously laughed. My mom would not be too pleased to see hundreds of pictures of me online.
Harry suddenly wrapped ehis arms around me and squeezed tightly. "I'm so sorry for that ," he murmured. "We really don't get a lot of privacy."
"Thanks, Hazza, it's okay. That's exactly what happens when there's some kind of explosion in chemistry class."
He laughed. "Of course. Now. Amber, Veronica," he and Niall exchanged glances. "The boys and I have a little surprised planned."
