I wake up to my 6am alarm. I lay in my bed a little longer than I should, thinking about last night. My thoughts linger on the way her lips moved when she smiled at me. Had she really had her hand on my thigh during the drive? Had she really kissed me goodbye? I can't believe I didn't even invite her in for a drink. It was probably for the best. I don't actually know her. Still, I wonder if I could have been waking up next to her today. "If only..." I say, getting out of bed. I was wearing a black sports bra and  flannel pajama pants. I head into my bathroom to take a shower. I had already washed my hair last night, so the shower was mostly to help wake myself up. Fifteen minutes later, I step out and wrap a fluffy blue towel around my body. I walk over to the sink to brush my teeth and do my skin care routine. Once I'm done, I'm feeling refreshed and ready for the day. I go to get dressed for work. Everyone dresses fairly casually. We like to be comfortable while we work. I put on my favorite jeans, a Dunder Mifflin t-shirt, and a hoodie from a local sports team. Today, I decided to put on some winged eyeliner and mascara. I go to the kitchen to fill up my water bottle and grab my keys. When I can't find my keys, I am reminded of the night before. I wonder if Billie kept to her word to had my car delivered. I go down the elevator to the parking garage. Every resident has an assigned parking spot. When I get to my spot, I see my car waiting for me. It looks spotless, like she had them wash it. I get in and see that the cans of energy drinks and to go bags are gone. I feel a little embarrassed at the thought of someone having to clean it out. I pull the sun visor down, and my keys fall to my lap. It's a good thing no one tried to steal my car last night. It would have been very easy. Taped to the sun visor was an envelope with my name written on it in black ink. I open it to see:

The Sunset Lounge
7:30pm

BP

I smile while reading the address. I am excited to see Billie again, though I wonder if it is strictly for business or if some pleasure will be mixed in.
I exit the parking garage and head to Dunkin. It's my day to get coffee for everyone, and I want donuts.
--------------------------------------------------------------
As I walk up to the door, Andrea holds it open for me. "Thanks," I say with a smile. "No problem!" She replies. "Are there any donuts for me?" She asks. "Maybe," I say playfully. When we reach the main part of the office, I set everything down on the table we use for team meetings. It is fairly small since the team is only five people, including myself. While Andrea is turning on all of the lights, I get her coffee out and offer it to her. "Thanks, I needed this." She says, yawning. "Of course," I say, also yawning. We were the first to arrive, like most days. Dylan also worked a night shift as a manager at McDonald's, so I let him come in an hour late. Therese and Orson should be here any minute. "How was your night?" Andrea asks after taking a sip of her hot coffee. "It was fine, I didn't do much." I say, handing her a glazed donut. "Have you started any new shows recently?" I ask. Trying to turn the attention on her. I'm not sure if my reunion with Billie should be kept a secret or not. "Well, I just started watching Abbott Elementary, and I'm rewatching Parks and Rec." She says between taking bites of her donut. "Great shows," I say, trying to muster up enthusiasm this early in the morning. "Yeah, I like watching light-hearted shows that bring attention to people that affect our everyday lives." She says. I nod in agreement as I finish my own donut. As I move to sit down at the table, Orson and Therese walk in the room laughing. They are the two on the team that seem up to having fun no matter the time of day. Andrea groans at their energy and comes to sit next to me. "Ah, Rita! You got donuts!" Orson exclaims in excitement. "Yeah, it felt like a donut morning." I say with less energy. "Every morning is a donut morning," Therese says, stuffing one in her mouth. "Agreed," Andrea confirms.

"Are you guys ready to get to work?" I ask once everyone has had some of their coffee and at least one donut. Orson groans, but everyone nods.
--------------------------------------------------------------
We are almost done for the day, and everyone begins cleaning their areas. I put away some of the books I had pulled out that had pictures of other suspected Incan artifacts. Therese and Andrea carefully reseal some of our own artifacts. Orson goes to wash his hands, and Dylan files some papers in the filling cabinet. My work day almost made me forget the meeting I have set up with Billie. I am the last to leave as I have the keys to lock up. Andrea waited by the door to walk out with me. "Have any big weekend plans?" She asks. "Not really, I'm just excited to relax." I respond, wondering if this is her first attempt to connect out of work hours. I am slightly interested, but I wonder if that would be unprofessional and frowned upon. "Have a good weekend!" I call out as I reach my car. "You too," she says, walking off to her car.
--------------------------------------------------------------
I hurry into my apartment to get ready to see Billie. Normally, I would have enough time to get ready, but there was an accident on the freeway, and it was bumper to bumper for an extra forty-five minutes. I quickly change into a pair of slacks and a white button-up. I left the top three buttons unbuttoned to give me a deep v and show off my cleavage. I freshen my mascara and apply a dark red lipstick. As I walk into my closet, I spritz some of my favorite perfume all over myself. I slip on a pair of black heeled boots.
--------------------------------------------------------------
I pull up to the Sunset Lounge thirty minutes later and look at my phone. It's 7:45, only fifteen minutes late. I exhale and step out of the car. A woman is there ready to take my keys. I hand them over as man walks up to me. "Rita Chavez?" He asks. I nod, slightly confused. "Come with me." He says, turning and expecting me to follow him. I sprint for a few steps to catch up. We walk into Lounge. I am met with a strong smell of oranges. The floor is a pattern tile with different shades of browns and grays. On one side of the room are shelves covered in bottles full of different expensive alcohol. Underneath the shelves are booths with blue velvet benches and yellow chairs. Hanging from the ceiling are all kinds of ferns and other plants.
