Rita's POV

The drive to the prison extinguishes our light-hearted mood from earlier. We sit in a shroud of silence, occasionally interrupted by Kacey. She reminded us of our places. Kacey set up a place for me to go to protect me while Billie is inside. She also has a connection with a security guard inside the prison. Billie will be able to walk in with a hidden camera and mic without the metal detector going off. Nate, Dario, and Kacey will all be watching from a monitor in the van. I want to go in with Billie. I know that it would be stupid and reckless if I got my wish. Alerting Salazar to my existence would put not only my life in danger but the entire search. Billie will have to face her brother's killer alone. I feel horrible.

Kacey's POV
"Okay, here's your camera." I say, sticking it to a button on Billie's shirt. "Dario, can you run a test to camera 1?" Dario nods, opening his laptop. "Your mic will go under your collar. Try not to touch it too much, or it will mess up the audio." Billie takes hold of Rita's hand but looks at me. "Kacey, you don't have to worry. I know what I'm doing." Dario clears his throat to get my attention, "Test for camera 1 is complete. We've got a strong connection." I check my phone and see the confirmation for Rita's safety transport. "Alright! Rita, your ride is almost here. Everyone else, make sure you are ready." I look around to see everyone giving me a nod to indicate they heard me. Turning back to Billie, I see she and Rita are talking. Rita has her hands on Billie's cheeks. Billie likewise has her hands on Rita. Rita looks as though she might cry. I can tell Billie is nervous, but she pushes it down to console Rita. I feel a pang of disgust and jealousy. It should be Rita doing the consoling. She is the new person. Billie went through hell losing her brother, and now she has to confront his killer. Rita is selfish and immature. A car pulls up next to our van. "Rita, your ride is here." I say, thankful to get her away from Billie. I open the door to her, and unsurprisingly, Billie gets out too.

Rita's POV
Billie takes my hand as we walk around the van to the car. "Kacey has assured me that wherever you're going is safe." An uneasiness settles over me. "You don't know where I'm going?" I ask. "No, it is for your safety. If Salazar somehow finds out about you, he won't even be able to try and get your location from me." She explains. "Are you absolutely sure you're okay doing this?" I ask again. Billie kisses my forehead, "Yes, my darling. This is something I have to do." I kiss her lips, "Okay, but tonight will be about us. We'll have a special dinner and just relax. Forget everything that is happening today." I say. "Sounds fantastic." Billie says, kissing me again. "I'll see you soon." She says, opening the car door for me. "I love you." I call out as I sit in the car. "I love you too, darling."

Kacey's POV
I have to keep a straight face when I hear Billie and Rita saying their goodbyes. Billie's mic is on, but I'm the only one that already has my earpiece in. I look around to make sure no one else could hear them. Sure enough, the rest of the people in the van were all absorbed in their own things. Billie waits outside until Rita's car is out of sight. She opens the door and hops in. "Are we almost ready go start? I want to get this over with." I look to Dario. His eyes meet mine, and he nods. "Yep, everything is ready, boss." I say. Billie is to walk in by herself. I gave the security guard her description, and he has been instructed to find her before she goes through security. Dario will be closely following Billie's camera. Nate and I also have earpieces to listen in.
Billie exits the van and walks to the visitor's entrance. A few moments later, I hear a man's voice. "Are you Ms. Pearce?" The voice is deep and accented. "Are you Alfredo?" She asks. "Yes, ma'am." The voices in the background fade out as they leave the main front area. "You'll be at window four." The guard says to Billie.

"I'm at the window." Billie tells us through the mic. "I can see him walking over." She says. Suddenly, Dario snaps his finger, "Kacey, you're going to want to see this." I stand from my seat, "What's going on?" I ask, but Billie's voice answers my question before I Dario can. "Sebastian?" I freeze. Did I hear that right? Did Billie just say her brother's name? I rush to Dario to look at his screen. Sure enough, there sits Sebastian, Billie's brother. The one that's supposed to be dead. "Billie?" Sebastian asks. I can see tears form in his eyes as he smiles. "I've missed you so much! How did you know I was here?" We can't see Billie's face, but we can see her hand on the table. "I thought you were dead! What are you doing here? Why haven't you reached out to me? I planned your funeral. I mourned you!" With that last sentence, she slammed her hand down on the table. "Billie, I'm so sorry. That night at the bank, Salazar told me he was coming for you if I didn't stop looking for the treasure. My friend was hiding and heard him threaten to hurt you, so he called the cops. Before they got there, my friend was found, and Salazar shot him. He blamed me for killing him, and I got arrested. When I was awaiting my court date, Salazar came and talked to me. He said that if I was declared guilty under his name, he would leave you alone." Sebastian explained. I can't believe what I'm hearing. Salazar is still out there somewhere. I can only imagine what Billie is thinking right now. "I don't understand." Billie says, "How could you not contact me? I've spent years believing you were dead." Sebastian's face falls, "Billie, I'm so sorry. I thought cutting off all contact would be the best way to protect you." Billie stands from her seat. "That was not for you to decide. I can protect myself." From somewhere in the room, we can hear a man tell Billie she needs to calm down or leave. She sits back down. "That was a mistake, now I know. But you're here, and you know I'm alive. You can visit me." Sebastian pauses, "I have thought about you every day." Billie puts her hand in her lap. "I think about you every day." Her voice wavers, and I wonder if she'll cry. The only time I've seen her cry was when her brother died. Now that he's alive, I don't know how she'll act. Sebastian smiles softly but then frowns. "Wait, if you didn't know I was here, who were you planning on visiting?" He waits for Billie to respond, but she doesn't. "Were you here for Salazar?" Now it's his turn to get angry. "How could you be so irresponsible? Don't you know how dangerous he is?" Dario looks at me with a concerned look. We both know Sebastian shouldn't have asked that. "I had to!" Billie says, trying to keep her voice down so the guard doesn't make her leave. "He was my only hope for finding the treasure. I'm stuck, I can't find the last box." He perks up, "You found the second box?" Based on his reaction, I can assume Billie gave him a nonverbal confirmation. "I have spent years just sitting here thinking about you and the treasure. I think I've figured out where the box is." He leans forward even though there is glass between them. "There is a convent here where a Daughter of the Plumed Serpent lived. It is believed she was the one who was tasked with the relocation of the box." Could Sebastian really have figured out where the box was hidden? Nate is already researching convents here in Alamo when Sebastian speaks again. "You'll find it where the first Queen of Spain met with Saint Jerome and passed notes." I look to Dario, "What's that supposed to mean?" I ask, and he shrugs. "Okay, Sebastian, I didn't come here to play games. Just tell me where it is." Billie says. "It's the least you could give me after making me believe you've been dead." Sebastian tears up again, "Billie, that's all I can tell you. Even in a heavily guarded prison, nothing is safe." A guard comes up behind Billie. "All right, your time is up." Billie stands, watching as a guard on the other side escorts Sebastian out of the room.
