Sonic the Hedgehog, as he knew it, was gone.
And that one fateful battle with Dark Gaia was why.
He was in his Werehog form then, and he screamed when the destructive god began pulling the one thing responsible for it out of his body.
When the pain ended, he felt weak, but...
Chip...no, Light Gaia...had noticed that something had been off.
He'd seen that the furry, bulky body of his friend that he'd assumed every night was still there.
The rest of it was a blur.
Dark Gaia's completion, the transformation the abomination underwent, everything...
Yet the very first time that he himself realized something else had been taken away from him was when he'd managed to go Super.
That, he remembered so clearly.
The next moment had him wake up back in Windmill Isle, in the same spot he'd fallen when this all started.
Looking at his hands, he saw the one thing that he couldn't believe was real.
Then he ran.
He ran faster than the speed of sound, now permanently in the body of the Werehog.
