Narrator POV:
It has been a long and exhausting week for both Kevin and Streber. Daily visits in the hospital after 13 hours of work made Kevin look like a living corpse. But if he keeps getting barely any sleep, he might not look so alive anymore. Sleeping pills aren't working for him anymore. Nothing is working, and that is the biggest problem, because 4 hours of sleep aren't enough. And Streber - he was really nervous about the new robotic arm. What if he doesn't learn how to use it? Or if he might hurt someone with it? He is supposed to get the replacement arm after a special surgery, so that it will be easier to control. The scary tension and fear grew as days passed by. And then, it was the day Streber was so scared about. It was the day of the surgery (sounds like a horror movie title lol).[QUICK NOTE FROM AUTHOR : KEVIN GOT STREBER RED ROSES IN THE LAST CHAPTER BC IT WAS VALENTINES TOO I FORGOT ABOUT VALENTINES DAY AND I CANT EDIT THE BOOK SORRY YALL :,)]
Kevin POV:
Just one hour more and I have to rush to the hospital to be with Streber before that goddamn surgery. Like they couldn't leave him alone already. He went through so much recently, and the nerves has been wrecking his brain completely. But at least they have coffee in there so i dont fall asleep instead of being with him, and I have a day off tomorrow so I can stay with Strebs while he is recovering.

Suddenly i heard the noise of doors to the shop opening. Oh dear God, not those kids again! They come here almost everyday! Do they not have school or something?Narrator POV:
Skid and Pump walked into the Candy store, carrying a 20 dollar bill. From what their moms told them, 20 dollars is quite enough for a whole lot of candy! And as you probably know, sweets are one of the most important things in a kids life. They approached the counter, and placed the money on top of it so Kevin could see it.
- Hello Kevin! How are you doing?- Pump asked him, seeing Kevins annoyed face.
- Uh, hi. I guess im doing fine enough, why would you ask that kiddo?- Kevin was really surprised at the question, since not a whole lot of people actually care about him.
- We heard our moms talk on the phone about your boyfriend being in the hospital, and that "he is doing quite well, but Kevin doesn't seem to take it as well as him"-Skid quickly exposed the fact that Lila and June (their mothers ofc) are gossiping about everything that happens to everyone in the town. Now it was Kevin's turn to be judged.*Tick*..... *Tick*..... *Tick*..... *Tick*.....
The silence seemed weirdly loud to the three. It took a few seconds for the Candy boy to process what the kids meant to say. Looks like everyone already noticed the terrible physical and mental state he is in. What if Streber notices this? What if he thinks its because of him? Those exact questions and many other were rushing through Kevin's head. Then he felt two warm, little palms cover his cold hand.
- We didin't mean to make you sad Candy man, y'know?- Both kids seemed to show genuine empathy for him. Maybe he didint like his work a lot of times, but he definitely will remember this moment forever.
- I-I-I dont know what is happening to me now... But that's not your problem little ones, its my personal problem that i have to deal with by myself. Now, tell me, which candy would you like?- Luckily, Skid and Pump got distracted with picking the flavour of the gummy bears they wanted. "Sheesh, that was a close call" Kevin thought, checking his phone once again to see if his boyfriend typed anything back.[One eternity later]
After the kids decided to ask the Candy boy for advice, and ignoring his recomendation, they paid and left the shop. Kevin checked his phone again. "No new messages". Nothing is more enraging than this comunicate, especially when your other half is in the hospital and you are terribly worried about them. A whole group of kids and their guardians went inside, so Kevin and his co-worker (that showed up to his shift way to late, so Kevin had to work alone, instead of with another person) had to tell them which candy they reccomend and all that stuff. He didint even notice taht he had 15 minutes left until the end of his shift. Just a few more clients and he will be done for the day, because he was allowed to leave his work earlier than usual. His boss wasn't that really cruel and evil type of boss you usually expect. He still was not the nicest in the world. Just a regular man doing his job just the way he should be doing it.
