The music was so loud in the club that Mabutho couldn't even think straight. This Lerato girl had gotten under his skin. She was not afraid to shower her affection for him. Mabutho was a ladies man but he had not time for love and relationships. But, Lerato had told him they were dating when he came back from Bloemfontein. He didn't disagree with her but just said "ok." Lerato screamed and hugged him after that. "They were dating." Mabutho could not wrap his head around that. He has never dated anyone before but here he was with this firecracker of a girl.

The door to the storage were located at the end of hallway. Mabutho was too much in thought to pay attention to his surroundings. The door was ajar and the light was lit. No one was allowed in this room. Only he had the keys and would only send David to take things. Mabutho pulled his gun from its holster and pushed the door slowly. He made his way into the room. He could not see anyone but the room as full of boxes so the person could be hiding behind them. Mabutho walked slowly pointing his gun at every side there was definitely someone in here. Two of the boxes with product was open. Someone was trying his patience.

Mabutho felt a object pressed to his side. "Put your gun on the floor." the male voice said. "So there were to of them" he thought as the other one stood from behind the boxes. He knew the guy who stood from behind the boxes. He was the new club dj they hired, the idiot who as stealing from them. Mabutho was about to charge at the DJ and felt a stinging pain coming from his side. When he touched the area his hand was red with his own blood. "The dick shot him" he thought. The man attacked him kicked and punched him until he was unconscious on the ground. They left him for dead and locked the door.

"He went to get some bottles." Mvelo said over the phone. Lerato had called for the tenth time complaining that Mabutho is not picking up his phone. Mvelo could not understand why his brother liked this girl, she was the complete opposite of his brother. "Ok, I am going to look for him." Mvelo said.

He hated the long way through the club so he used a back alley shortcut. When he walked closer to the service door he saw men loading a car with what looked like their whisky bottles that actually contained cocain. His brothers never told him about that side of the business but he stumbled across it when he was snooping. This was bad if they were stealing the boxes this meant Mabutho was hurt. "Fuck." Mvelo swore to himself when he pulled his gun out. He hid for a bit trying to see how many men were there. Just three, he could take them. He got out of his hiding spot and started firing. Sizwe had sent Mvelo for training when he was younger. He was trained in martial arts, gun control and explosives. Sizwe somehow always knew that Mvelo would choose this life and he prepared him. The shots he fired were all kill shots to the head. He never missed his target. He called a few guys that work at the club to take the bodied to the Bhengu brothers.

Mvelo ran to the store room and called Mabutho's name but no response. He kicked down the door and found his brother in a pool of blood. He was bruised on his face and his shirt was torn. Mvelo froze "what now?" he thought. Mabutho moved a little and that brought Mvelo back to earth he called for help and a group of guys rushed in. They took Mabutho and drove to the hospital all gang members used. Mvelo was on the phone with Sizwe explaining what happened.

"Who are those punks?" Sizwe yelled at the phone. "Find out today David. I want to know who sent them!" Sizwe was at the hospital in a flash. Mvelo was covered in blood but he refused to leave. The doctor was operating on Mabutho. "His brother was a fighter he would be ok. Please be ok." Sizwe thought as he sat next to Mvelo. This kid was a force of nature. He had killed three men without flinching and even now as his brother was fighting for his life he was itching for blood. He kept asking "who sent them? I will go deal with them." the look in Mvelo's eyes when he asked that scared Sizwe.

"Hey bro." Mvelo said walking into the room they had put Mabatho in. Mabatho gave a weak smile and pulled his little brother for a hug. Mabutho was the only one who understood Mvelo. He was always violent and angry, as a child he was always expelled from school for fighting . He had a deep hatred for the world that he always put himself in danger. Mabutho was his anchor, he could calmed the beast. When they moved to Johannesburg Mabutho came more often to see them at Gogo Ndaba. Sizwe never had time for them. He was always building the business and now he was trying to keep the business. Mvelo understood the weight his brother was carrying but he couldn't help but want some kind of a relationship with him. They hardly even spoke.

They visited Mabutho for a while and eventually left. It was a very long day and Lerato called nonstop. "You did great today." Sizwe said to Mvelo. "Thank you." He said looking out the window as they passed other cars. "Mvelo, I want you to run the club operation from now on." Sizwe said pulling into their complex. "Ok." Mvelo said still looking out the window. Sizwe parked the car and looked at Mvelo. He was just a kid but he already saw so much death. Sizwe got out the car and walked to where Mvelo was standing. He pulled him into a hug "you don't risk your life ever again. Ok." Sizwe said. He knew how close Mvelo came to dying. The CCTV showed how he put himself in danger. If there was another man he didn't see they could have killed him easily. He would have lost two brothers in one night. "Ok." Mvelo said hugging him back. They were both relieved that Mabutho was alive.

Mabutho was on the phone for an hour with a crying Lerato. She had lost her mind crying and screaming. He wanted to laugh a few times but she was too upset. No one had ever cared so much for him. His brothers yes they would die for him but Lerato was different she loved him so much. He tried to calm her down, saying it was just a scratch and the bullet just grazed him. Mabutho was more worried about her than his injuries. If Mvelo hadn't showed up in time he would be dead. He hung up after Lerato said she was tired and they would speak tomorrow.

The more the he thought about the hit at the club, the more he was convinced that those guys were from the Ace cartel. Only they knew that they stored product there cause they bought it from them. "Hey Sizwe. It's the Ace cartel." Mabutho said. "I just got off the phone with David and he just said the same thing." Sizwe said. "What do we do." Mabutho asked. "We fucking kill them. No one touches my family." Sizwe said in his menacing voice. "Cool by me but I am going to need a week or two to recover." Mabutho said feeling very weak. "No, rest up this is a job for Mvelo and I." Sizwe said. Mabutho was silent for a while. "So, you bringing him in?" Mabutho asked. "He almost got killed. He is safer with us." Sizwe said exhaling loudly. "Sizwe, you look after him. Anything happens to him..." Sizwe cut Mabutho off before he finished and said "he is my blood too." Mabutho took a deep breath and calmed himself. "You take care of him." Mabutho finally said. "I would die for him and you know that." Sizwe said. "I know." Mabutho finally came to the conclusion that Mvelo would go after the Ace cartel with or without them.

"Hey, get ready." Sizwe said to Mvelo. Mvelo was in his room playing some soccer game. He nodded and got up.

The warehouse was very busy as usual the Ace cartel were the main suppliers of cocain and other contraband in South Africa. They had huge ties with the Colombian drug trade and were responsible for ninety percent of the drug trafficking.

Sizwe wanted to send a message not to cripple the drug trade cause he made some of his money from that. They climbed over the wall and split up to go put some explosives devices on some cars and trucks. The building shouldn't be destroyed but the fancy cars this picks came in would be obliterated.

They went undetected which is what Sizwe was hoping for, by the time they were back up the hill. Sizwe gave Mvelo the switch to light it up. With one press of the button the cars started exploding and men started screaming. It was all Sizwe could do for now. As soon as he found another supplier he would be killing off the Ace cartel one by one. Mvelo stood looking at the fire with anger in his eyes. He wanted to go kill the guy who gave the orders but that was not possible yet. "We will come back to end it. I promise." Sizwe said tapping Mvelo's shoulder.

"This is not a scratch." Lerato weeper softly. She had pestered everyone so much that Sizwe finally agreed for her to go see Mabutho. Mabutho wanted to comfort her but he was not good with that type of thing. He just squeezed her hand while she cried. "Why did they do this to you?" Lerato asked between cries. "I am ok love I promise." Mabutho said trying to sound convincing. "I was so scared." She cried out a bit louder. "Lerato? Babe? Please look at me." Mabutho said. He couldn't deal with her tears. It made his heart ache. Lerato looked at him with tear filled eyes and wet cheeks. "Marry me." Mabutho said stunning himself and her. Lerato looked at him with shock and disbelief. "What?" She said sounding a little calmer. "I said would you marry me?" Mabutho was now sure of his intentions with her. She was this beautiful light in his very dark world. "Yes!" Lerato screamed and threw her hands around him. Mabutho was still in pain but he didn't complain. He loved this short firecracker.
