Growing up, I've never stayed in the same place for more than a few weeks. This was okay, because I had siblings to keep me company, and because I never had any friends that I was really attached too.. but there was always this one boy, we'd been born in the same week, same time, same hospital, but we were two years apart. My mom and his were planning to get pregnant at the exact same time but Clara had some miscarriages and it took her until me and Nolan to have a baby. My mom was so excited and Rue was apparently shocked to find out mom was having another baby. Now about this baby, he was a weird one, a tough case that I couldn't figure out, an enigma.
He'd follow me around, and call me names like buttercup, rosey and birdie, mama says he learnt it from his father, who is always in and out of jail.. but whenever anyone else had tried to threaten me, or make me upset, he stood up for me.
I'd always thought that this was because our mothers were best friends but after today, I don't think I'll ever see him the same about again...
This boy, his name was Jack. Our parents thought we'd be good friends and defend each other, and they were right about defending each other, but we never actually got along, just couldn't stand other people trying to butt in with our "banter" as Jack calls it.
Nolan and Lucas love him, and Rue thinks we should date if we're not already. He comes round all the time with his mom and almost broke the lock on my door at one point.
I sometimes say he's special needs, but my mom tells me to apologise; I don't care though, he just smiles at me with those large brown eyes... Such pretty eyes.. and a beautiful smile.. but we're not even friends, so I can't think that way.Can I..?
