Alan and Oscar shared a look when I finished filling all of them in on the incident. We had finished eating breakfast.
Oscar got up and asked Alan to follow, "what is it?" I asked them, "Nothing that you have to worry about, you should go rest" Oscar said and I scoffed.
Was he trying to piss me off?
I watched them go towards the back of the house. I leaned back and looked at shanks who had been on his computer for a while now.
"Could you help me out with this?"
I got up and walked around to sit beside him, he was stuck over a code. I moved the laptop infront of me and got to work.
I figured out the issue and smiled, now it should be easy. I had failed to notice that Shanks was no longer in the room.
I shrugged it off, he was probably in the washroom.
I sorted it out and decided to go looking for shanks but then I came across a room and opened it to find myself in a room filled with books on one side and a computer set up in one corner.
I heard voices and walked towards a hidden door behind the shelves, that's when I identified one of the voices to be Alan.
"Understand?"
"That's a bad idea, she can help us-"
"No"
"It involves her"
"Yeah we should tell her-"
"No one will mention this to her, she has to be safe and what you are suggesting is not going to do so."
I heard shanks groan, he doesn't agree with Oscar. They seem to be talking about me and maybe eavesdropping isn't ideal for information, atleast it'll help me understand what is going on.
"Boss I've always been with you on all decisions but this one doesn't seem rational-"
"It's not and you both might be right that I'm being paranoid but I can't help it when it comes to her"
He sounded blank but the slight waver in his voice gave away the emotions brewing inside.
It felt like someone squeezed my heart and I found it difficult to breathe.
I walked out and into the room that belongs to Oscar. The first thing I noticed is the medicine on the side table. I wipe away the stray tear, I need to stop being so emotional.
I didn't waste time and grabbed the painkiller along with water. This time I entered and made sure to be loud enough for them to know that someone is in the room.
Alan opened the door completely for me to walk in without an issue. I was holding the tray with a glass of water and medicine.
Oscar watched as I put it down in front of him. He took a pill and swallows it with the water I brought.
He put the glass down and smiled.
"You remembered."
I roll my eyes and turn away to walk, Once they thought that I was out of ear shot Alans question made me freeze slightly before I walked away in a hurry.
"Boss didn't you already take a medicine-"
"You won't understand"
I heard Oscar.
He had it, he could have just told me that he had taken it on time. Next time I'll ask before I give it to him-
Next time?
This is risky, I'm getting too comfortable with what is happening. I need to stop caring about him and he needs to stop caring about me.
he cant honestly be in love with me.
