Harry's POV
As Louis and I sat across from each other in the café near campus, I couldn't help but think back to the time when we were still close. When he was my everything.
Louis and I were sat in a comfortable silence just enjoying the way we could look deep into each others eyes and not have a single care about anything. Those are some of the moments I've missed the most while being away from him.
When I met Louis, I was just starting high school. I didn't really have any friends because I came from a completely different area than the rest of the school. I had to move because of my mum dying that summer. My dad told me he couldn't bare being near her without actually being with her.
It was the first day of school after summer, I was proudly dressed in my pink crop top with my light washed ripped jeans and white converse. My dad hadn't hit me in a while, so I could finally wear my favorite shirt without showing any of my bruises. Someone had noticed my top and started making fun of me. Then more and more people joined him and some even started to push me. To my surprise a student yelled, "A teacher is coming!" Making everyone turn away from me run to class.
I looked up and was met with the most beautiful ocean blue eyes I had ever seen in my entire life.
"Are you okay?" He had asked me with a worried look on his face. I was very shy so I just replied with an almost inaudible "yes."Since then we just hit it off. I was still very shy, but I slowly opened up to him. We were basically inseparable. He escorted me to class everyday, without any exceptions, and he made sure I was okay before he hurried off to his own class.
It was when i was a junior and he was a senior, about to leave for college, that everything had turned around. Louis and I had both confessed our feelings about the other, and everything was great. We weren't together as a couple yet, but he called me many nicknames that would always make me blush a deep red and he would always hold my hand and place small pecks all over my face when I was sad. He would make me forget about my dad, and he'd let me sneak into his house so he could cuddle me when my dad was being horrible to me, which had become very often. He'd always try to make me self harm less, and it worked.
That was until he started hanging out with these guys that clearly didn't appreciate the fact that Louis always hung out with this 'Little girly twink' as they would call me. Louis would always stand up for me when they talked bad about me. I don't know why, but one day he just stopped. He stopped standing up for me, he stopped cuddling and kissing me in public. At some point, he just stopped everything with me.
I tried to talk to him for weeks but he just ignored me. Then he left for college and never tried to contact me again.
I still don't know what happened and why he chose to do that, hopefully I'll find out someday.
And now we're here, one year later, sitting in front of each other and talking like it's the first time we meet. Well at least we're trying to. It's a bit awkward to say the least.
"So, how have you been?" Louis asks sipping his coffee.
"Uhm, I've been alright. After you left i actually found a new friend. We still talk just not as much as we used to 'cause they went to LA for college. Then I started here and I don't know if you know him, but there's this Irish guy named Niall that I've become pretty close to."
"Yeah I think I've seen him around. Do you-" he was cut off to the sound of my phone ringing.
"Oh sorry." I apologize to him, then I answer the phone. "Hello? Oh hi Taylor. Yeah I'm good." I say smiling.
