Tyler's POV:

Wednesday seemed very distant this morning. She said she had a rough night, but I think more happened. The day passed in a blur and soon tomorrow was upon us.

Cars pulled into the parking lot early in the morning. Wednesday, Enid, and I decided to greet everyone at the gates. I could tell that Wednesday was stressed out about something. I asked her about it while Enid was enthusiastically greeting Yoko.

"I'll tell you later," she responded monotonously. "When we aren't surrounded by amateurs."

I leaned in for a kiss. Poor Wednesday really looked like she needed one. She leaned in, and soon I felt a million eyeballs on my back. We split apart, only to find Bianca, Kent, and Divina staring at us.

"W-welcome back," Wednesday mumbled. "And uh. Yeah."

"You're good, girlie," Bianca said, earning a piercing death stare from Wednesday. "We all have shipped you from the start."

"Shipped?" Wednesday asked. "What does that mean?"

"I'll explain later," I said back.

I kissed her again, this time longer.

"Wednesday!" I heard a shout. "What are you doing?"

       It was Xavier.

"He literally tried to kill you, and now you're making out?"

"He's changed, Xavier," Wednesday said. "Unlike someone."

The weeks flew by, and soon it was time for the Poe Cup. Enid somehow convinced us to help  her. We decided to do 'The Pit and the Pendulum'. Our boat was silver, with splatters of red to represent the pendulum. We all tried to look as pale as possible, with sunken-in eyes and shredded cloths.

Wednesday looked anxiously at her phone, as I told her everything was fine. "We'll talk about it after we win." I said reassuringly.

Our team was made up of Enid, Wednesday, Yoko, and me. Mrs. Addams had a lot of fun shooting the pistol, but we couldn't worry about that right now. We had some winning to do. Enid's werewolf brothers were out first, because their boat tipped over. Kent, Divina, Bianca, and the other siren whose name I can't remember we're out next. I don't know why, but Wednesday looked like she did. I had a lot to ask her about.

Our team lurched forward. We made it to Raven Island. Xavier's boat was right beside us. Xavier and I got out and the same time and stared running. He struck his leg out and I fell onto a boulder. Then everything went black.

... ... ... ... ... ...

I woke up to a slap on the face. "Tyler!"

        "Huh?" I asked.

      "Tyler, your head is bleeding!"

I opened my eyes to see Wednesday hovering over me. "Come on, let's go!" she said.

I hopped up and ran to the boat. She had our flag in our hand. Xavier's boat was ahead of us. We started rowing. Enid must have dug out the bottom of their boat, because they were slowly sinking. As we rowed past them, I felt a piercing pain in my leg. Xavier had spikes on his boat, and cut through our boat. 'And me,' I thought bitterly. We were a few yards away from the finish line. We hopped onto the dock, then sprinted to the finish line. People were cheering. Yoko was happy. Enid was overjoyed. Even Wednesday was grinning slightly.

I leaned toward her and kissed her slowly. Then everything went black.
