BOOM! I jolted up in bed, the thunder waking me from my nightmare. I had been having the exact same one every night for a week now, and I was starting to get a little paranoid. In the dream, I would be running from a man. Not just any man though. It seemed like I knew him from somewhere, but couldn't figure out how I knew him. He had brown, curly hair, green eyes, and a very fit, athletic looking body, he was tall, and had dimples. He was sexy. I would date him if it wasn't for the fact that I was running for my life from him. I kept running, but he was beginning to gain on me. It must be those long legs of his giving him an advantage. I turned my head and focused solely on where I was going. But even that task was hard at the moment, because it was also dark out. Could the circumstances get any worse? Unfortunately, yes. They could get MUCH worse.
I dashed onto the road, and saw headlights shining in my face. I dashed out of the way quickly, finding that I was now running down a dimly lit alley. I looked ahead, and it was a dead end. I frantically searched for a way out as heard the man's footsteps slowing behind me, meaning he knew I had no where left to run and he had won the chase. He slowly stalked closer. As he took a step forward, I took a step backwards. We continued out little game until my back bumped into the wall.
This the end I thought. I'm going to die right here and no one will ever know what happened to me. I felt tears beginning to well up in my eyes but quickly stopped them from flowing. "Don't show him fear, Liz. Don't let him have that luxury." I thought to myself. He was suddenly impossibly close as he took a giant step, closing the small remaining gap between us.
I instinctively put my hands up to his chest to try and push him away, but he had suspected my move. He caught both my wrists in one of his large hands, trapping me. As his head leaned down to whisper something in my ear, I flinched, making him chuckle.
He tried again, and this time there was no room for me to move my head. He whispered, "Where do you think you're going, baby?" His voice was seductive, it made you want to lean into him. "Stop it Liz!" I mentally scolded myself as I snapped back to reality. This guy could be a kidnapper, or a rapist, or even worse, a murderer.
He put his face in front of mine, and just stared into my eyes, like he could see my soul or something. We stayed like that for a few minutes as my eyes grew very wide with fear, which caused him to smirk. Just as he opened his mouth to say something, the dream ended.
