:) hello! I know I said new chapters weekly but imma be busy with practice all week cause I have regionals Saturday and I have practice everyday except Thursday, like I have double practice Monday (6 hours total), Tuesday practice (3 hours), double wednesday practice (6 hours) and Friday practice (3 hours)! Woo 🥲🥲 that's 15 hours of practice and probably that'll go to 16-17 if we go over imma just 🕳️🏃 plus regionals is like 4 hours long 😭😭

Anygay yeah I'm releasing this chapter today :) hope y'all enjoy cause yeah next chapter won't be released tho till like not this Wednesday but next Wednesday:) or maybe earlier depends how busy I am plus I gotta finish writing it!

We drive until midnight stopping occasionally to get gas and food. I park at an empty gas station to sleep. We have enough space that we won't be cramped, so Sam and I sleep up front, Gyu and Ty in the middle, and Kai is in the back. We wake up around 9am the next day and decide to go into the gas station to get breakfast, as well as some food for the trip. While everyone's searching for what they want, I wander towards the trinkets. I see a small tray with rings, one specifically catches my eye. It's a small silver ring engraved spelling out 'Lonely Boy'

I pick the ring out of the tray and look at the price, to see a whopping twenty-three dollars! For a small ring! That's absolutely insane! I reached to put it back but Sam came up behind me wrapping his arms around my waist and whispering into my ear.

"If you really want it just take it, no one will care," he says. I turn my head to face him and look at him like he's crazy, but then I think some more about it. Yeah, no one will care. Besides, I don't have the money, I need to save it for food.

I hold the ring between my fingers acting like I'm inspecting it before placing it on the tray- well, that's what it looked like. In reality, I switched the nimble ring into my other hand while acting like I'm placing it back, but instead putting it into my pocket and taking the price tag off.

We walk out of the store with the ring in my pocket and some snacks in my hand. When we get in the car I pull the ring out of my pocket and slip it onto my ring finger, the finger covered with a mark from an accident with my dad. I've always hated looking at the cut, those marks that dig into my skin are cruel, those marks replaced with a ring that will now sit on my skin. I turn to smile at Sam.

"See that wasn't too hard! Welcome to a life of crime, and don't worry we've all stolen something in our life so you're not alone, W-" he says, smiling back, but through his lips, I can see a side smirk starting to form.

"We're good boys gone bad!" Gyu chimes in. Sam looks at him upset that he was interrupted, but sighs in agreement.

We drive a fewhours before stopping again when we see a small abandoned warehouse. We all hop out of the car to inspect the place. After all, it might be a safe place where we can sleep for the night. We walk inside to see one of those prepackaged, foldable pools that weirdly enough is sitting inside an actual paged pool... what's the point of the foldable pool then? Oh well not my problem.

"I FOUND A HOSE!" I hear Gyu shout out.

"Good for you?" Kai replies back in a snarky tone. Sam and I start laughing when we see Gyu mock back a sassier "Good for you." Kai comes at him ready to fight, but in a panic Gyu had turned the hose on, soaking Kai. Ty tried to step in, but ended up getting soaked as well.

"YOU GUYS, STOP MESSING AROUND WE DON'T HAVE ANY EXTRA CLOTHES!" Sam shouts out next to me, whilst I'm nearly on the floor crying from laughter.

Gyu turns the hose off and the three of them walk over in a sulking manner while water drips off of them.

"Come on inside! We need to get you guys dried off. We don't need anyone getting sick." Sam says in a stern but calming voice. Once we're outside he looks at me before saying,

"Jun go look for some sticks. We can make a fire and sleep here for the night."

I stood up straight to salute him before exclaiming "Yes sir!"

We've still got around an hour before sunset, so I hurry to gather as many sticks as I can find. When I eventually find enough, I jog back carrying a huge clump of sticks ranging from different sizes and thickness.

When I arrive back I see Sam watching the others run around the field chasing each other. I drop the sticks in a pile before plopping down next to him. I check my watch, 5:53. The sun has almost set completely by now, so we enjoy the last of it together.

"I'm glad they're all happy," I hear Sam whisper. I look at him, confused. He continues, "At first it was just me, ya' know? We were all on our own, I had just me at the time. Then one day I was walking around and I heard some crying so I went over to where it was coming from and I saw a little 12 year old Kai crying against a tree. I thought he was just some lost kid." I look over at Kai who always looks so happy before turning back to Sam as he continues.

"I asked him what was wrong and he answered back with 'I ran away' I didn't need to know anything else I just sat down next to him and let him cry into my shoulder. Once he calmed down we talked for a little. I listened to his story and he listened to mine. I asked him if he wanted to join me on my journey,"

So they've been together for two years now. Makes me wonder how long Sam has been traveling for.

"What about the others? How did you meet them?" I ask. At this point the others are already walking back and Gyu hears my question.

"Sam and I go way back! But Ty and I go waaaay further!" He plops down across from us and starts talking.

"When I ran away I was on a live stream playing the guitar, I was jamming out to Cavetown as one does. When suddenly, BAM! My dad comes into my room yelling at me, calling me slurs, and cursing me out! ON A LIVE STREAM! Like dude everyone can see you... not gonna lie kinda awkward ma dude. So then-"

I look at Sam who seems very into the story, his side profile is gorgeous! I turn my attention back to Gyu as he continues his story.

"I packed my bag with some money I had saved up and I left! I even forgot to end the stream! I just left with some money and my bike! Crazy I know! I rode my bike as the tears flew from my face and I crashed! That's when I met y/n an-," he's cut off by Ty before he can finish his sentence.

"Gyu cut the nonsense, you crashed, I saw you from the skate park, and we left to run away together. None of that y/n nonsense is true, don't listen to that bullcrap," Gyu let out an annoyed whine before continuing.

"Ugh okay so after that we walked around for like what, two months, before we found Sam and Kai at a park? Then the rest is history!" He stood up and finished with a dramatic bow.

"So how long have you two been traveling with Sam and Kai?" I ask.

"Like a year maybe," Ty answered back. They've been together this long! That's crazy!

I was about to say something else but Sam cuts in before I can speak.

"Okay you guys it's getting late, let's get to bed. It's too late for a fire at this point so we'll save the sticks for another time," I stand up heading to the car to grab the blankets that my mom keeps in the car, heading into the warehouse once I've got 'em.

We lay them out and lie down, Sam next to me, Ty next to Gyu, and Kai on the other side of Sam and Ty.
