chapter 7

After Felix and his father arrived at the hospital they quickly rushed inside. They saw the doctor they appointed running toward Mrs. Lee's ward. They also followed behind the doctor. Soon they were in front of Mrs. Lee's ward. Felix was desperate to see his mother.

He got inside and his mother lying on the bed, she was struggling to breathe the doctor was examining her. Felix couldn't resist himself, he pushed the doctor away and hold his mother's hand. "Mom you're gonna be alright...ok?" He said while crying "everything is going to fine right? You're going to get fine? We'll go home together after this right?" He kept asking questions to his mother but she wasn't responding.

The nurses tried to get Felix away from his mother but he wasn't letting go off her hand. "I'm not going to leave my mother." He shouted. "Felix let go off your mother's hand. The docter needs to examine her." He heard his father say. "NO.." he shouted. His father was pulling him away from his mother. "Ple-please l-l-let me st-stay here." Felix broke down into tears his voice was breaking up.

But he knew it was all in vain. He can't do anything to save his mother. He was about to let go off her hand when he felt his mother holding onto his hand. He clenched onto her hand "mom?" He felt his mother was saying something he leaned in to hear her "Felix...take care of your father.." his mother muttered low.

"No... please  don't say that..."

"You know... I love you right? Your brother is very careless can you look after him as well?"

"Ofcourse I'll...but please stop saying that. You're going to be fine."

"I love you Felix. I always will..."

"I..i love you..too.." he leaned down his head on his mother's shoulder. He was waiting for his mother to say something but she was lying still. He glance up at her. Her eyes were closed and she was not breathing. The doctor quickly checked the nerves. He let out a deep sign. He looked at Felix with a sad expression. Felix knew what he was going to say. His eyes started flickering and tears falling down his cheeks.

"I'm sorry...she is no more."

Felix hugged his mother tightly as he broke down. He laid his head on her chest and cries his lungs out. His father also had tears in his eyes. As Felix it was also hard for his father. He just lost the woman he loved the most.

Felix was not letting go off his mother. He was a crying mess now. And it'll be lie to say he didn't cry the whole night.

Next day when his brother arrived they had their mother's funeral. Felix was not ready to let her go so early. He was still young, he wanted his mother to see him going to college. He wanted his mother to see him with his loved one. He wanted her to see that there is someone who will love him like she used to do. He remembered her say "find someone who will love you like i do or else leave him."

She was the first one to know about Felix sexual orientation. And she was the first one who supported him in every way. Felix broke down into tears remembering all the things his mother told him. All the time they spend together. All the the chats they had, the giggles, everything

After the funeral was done. Everyone went home. Now it was only Felix in the mourning room. There were a lot of flowers in front of his mother's photo yet he was not able to take his eyes off her. Suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder he looked up to see his bestfriend jaewon. He quickly hugged jaewon and a pair of tears falls down his cheeks.

Jaewon caressed the back of Felix head. "Don't cry....aunt Lee will be sad if she sees you like this." Felix pulled out and nodded. Jaewon wiped the tears from Felix's cheeks.

They both went outside and were walking in the garden. Felix kept looking down on his feet. It was quite silent for a quite while. Jaewon saw that and broke the silence. "You know I'm going to Korea tomorrow."

Felix looked at his friend, shock "what?"

Jaewon smiled at him "isn't it cool?"

"Yeah...it is...I'm so happy for you Jae."
Felix smiled. Jaewon let out a sign of relief he was finally able to make the freckle boy smile. But then again Felix smile dropped. Tears were forming again in his eyes. "Hey...what hap–" jaewon wasn't able to finish when Felix suddenly hugged him. "Does it mean you're also leaving me?" He asked, his voice quivering.

"Yeah..." Jaewon said in a low voice as he hugged Felix back. "But I'll call you everyday and probably will come to meet you too."

"I'm going to miss you so much"

"C'mon...it's not like I'm going to die." Jaewon chuckled but only received and smack from Felix. "Don't ever say that."

"Okayyy...." Jaewon said giving a surrender pose.

They walked for a while then went back home. Felix hugged jaewon once again before saying goodbye.

Later that night, they were having dinner. It was pretty silent but then Haesung (felix elder brother) broke the silence "i heard you're going Korea for college?"

"Yeah..." Felix mumbled under his breathe.

"That's good..." Haesung smiled at his brother. "Mom always wanted that."

"Yeah and I'm doing it for her.."

Present

Felix felt tears falling down as he was thinking about his mother. He wiped those tears with his hands. He slapped his face a few times with his hands "c'mon Felix you can't cry like this. You have made it to Korea. Mom will be so proud of you so don't waste your time on crying"

After breakfast he took the keys and locked his dorm before going to college. He looked at their family photo one last time before leaving "I'm doing this for you mom" he smiled at the picture and locked his dorm.

He took a deep breathe "let's go"

His appartment was not that far from his college and instead of taking a bus he thought of having a walk. On his way to college he saw a street full of people "what going on there?"

"You know straykids are going to perform here!!" He heard some girls passing by.

"Straykids?"
