Chapter 2 - Death's Life
Him.
Ah, 21st century. Everything is better now. Lots of technologies emerged along with the minds of people and what I mean by that is their open mindedness when it comes to homosexuality, among other things. Of course there will still be people who think otherwise. I was busy on my thoughts when someone bumped into Devin.
"What where you're going!" He sneered.
Automatically, Devin narrowed his eyes, flashing the man my bright blood red irises.
Apologize! I hissed.
"Sorry about that." He said making me smirk. Nobody messes with Devin Mors.
-
Her.
"So? Did you notice anything?" I asked Danielle. She's a blonde haired girl with a pretty smile. She works in the pub where Devin frequents. "No, he was his usual self, Miss." She replied "Give me your honest opinion." Danielle looked shocked but quickly recovered. "Honestly, Miss -" "Olivia but everybody calls me Liv." I said; If I want her frank opinion, I want her to call me be my name. "Liv..." She trailed off as if testing the waters. I smiled at her. "I honestly don't think that he's the person you're looking for." She said.
I looked out the window, seeing people pass by the café that I was currently at. "You really thing so?" I asked "Yes." I sighed before dismissing her. I felt myself tearing up but I willed it not to fall. I've been searching for him for 15 centuries and I can't seem to find him.
You asked for this.
I shook my head. No, I won't lose hope. I will find him.
-
Mors.
I sat in front of laptop, reading and rereading the email that Logan sent me, debating what kind of ideas should I present to him by Monday. The ideas will not only be coming from me but also from the other employees but apparently, Logan needs mine to be sent early.

From: Logan Welch
Subject: The Garrett Hall Project
Time sent: 18:45 PM; 12/05/15
To: Devin MorsDevin,
I need your inputs and/or ideas with regards to The Garrett Hall Project by Monday morning, 9 AM, not a minute late.
It's theme this year is White Christmas. There are promos and plans in the MS Word attached in this file. Read it and try to come up with different ideas. The more the merrier but I know your style, wrapping it up into one. Give me something new.
Logan Welch
CEO of Mors & Welch Advertising Inc.-
I sighed. He expects too much from me. I don't know if I should feel good about it or be stressed by the expectation.
Come on, Dev. You're good at this, really good at this. 'Sides, you have me, two heads are better than one.
I rolled my eyes. "You're in my head." I muttered under my breath before resuming to work. I typed away a good advertising campaign for it, trying to think of ways to feed this to people. I then wrote some ideas in my notebook for later suggestions if Logan disapproves of this one.
When did Logan ever gave you his disapproval?
I ignored the voice before continuing to gather some ideas. Back-up plans are always important. It's better to be prepared.
Monday Morning.
"Let's hear it! What do you have for me, Dev?" I mentally released a breath before smiling and sitting in front of him. "If you like it, you'll give a raise." I jokingly said "That's quite unfair of you. I like everything that you do." He replied making me shrug.
"Snow. It's obvious that there should be snow since it's white Christmas and all." I started. "Inside the mall, there would be snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, white and blue garlands on the railings, you know, those sorts of stuff." I said "We're needed to advertise not to decorate." He stated. He's in his business form. "It also has to do with advertising. Who wants to buy in a decor-less mall?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. "Tell me, Mr. Welch, do you think that it will snow on the first day of Winter?" He frowned "How is this relevant?" He asked "Just answer the question." I said to him. "No, it'll snow on Christmas Day. It always does." He said.
"There is a 25% chance that it will snow on the 21st and also 25% that it will snow on Christmas." I said to him. "What's the other 50%?" He asked while frowning "That it will snow in between those days or after the 25th." I said "Again, what has this got to do with anything?" He asked. I read from the proposal that there's going to be a showcase. If you spend at least $200 worth of things in their department store, you have a chance to win a brand new car.
"This is only a suggestion, okay? They're planning on giving the winner a brand new car, right?" I asked and he nodded. "How about this, spend $500 worth of things in their department store, guess when the snow falls: first day of Winter or Christmas and change the brand new car to a trip to Europe for 2, hotel expenses paid. If the snow doesn't fall in those days then no one will win, the company can keep it's money." I said. "That's a marketing strategy not advertising." He said through gritted teeth. He's obviously pissed.
"That's where we come in." I said "We will have photoshoots for billboards, commercials on local TV channels, and newspaper prints. We will take photos of the mall's interior with the Christmas Themed decors and have them printed in newspapers for children to enjoy and adults to see." I said. "We will have models posing as the mall's Snow Queen for the billboards. We can also print that in the newspaper with the question: 'When will the Queen let the snow fall?' And there in the newspaper will be explained why the question was asked." I paused a bit to drink water. "And commercials playing outside the Mall's big screen and in TVs, endorsing it's grand price. It's a win-win situation, their sales go up and our pay doubles." I finished as I smirked at Logan. He shook his head with a smile. "This is why you always get a raise. Job well done, Devin. Although, how will we present this idea to Mr. Hall?" He asked with a frown.
"Mr. Garrett Hall is all about making Garrett's remarkable. If he wants his mall to be unforgettable, he'll take the risk and we both know that he likes taking risks." I said with a smirk.

I'm pretty excited about uploading this! Haha! I actually decided to change the genre from Fantasy to General Fiction but I don't know, maybe I'll return it to being Fantasy. Haha! I'm weird, I know.
Anyways, the man on the photo is Jamie Dornan! He's known for playing Christian Grey of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie and I decided that he will be perfect to play Devin Mors.
That's all! Hope you liked it!
Love you.
J. xoxo
