Chapter 16

Down in the abyss, Vex and Blitze swam down to meet Madam Roohar. "We are so dead!", said Vex nervously. "She's gonna kill us for sure", Blitze replied. "It was the perfect opportunity to get them. We were planning this for weeks and now the plan is all ruined. Oh! How are we gonna tell her that?" They kept thinking up ways to give her an explanation but couldn't. Finally they reached the entrance to her cave.

There was nothing but silence at the entrance. Their minds were filled with a millions ways to run away and to never return but unwillingly they entered. The atmosphere inside was colder than usual. The anglerfish loomed over her chair. There were a few glowing worms moving along the walls making it more luminescent than before. Madam Roohar was in her chair not saying a single word.

"Umm.. Ma.. Madam Roohar?", Blitze stuttered. No response. "Madam Roohar?", she said again but no response. "Madam Roohar, we encountered a problem with the attack." Madam Roohar rose from her seat and turned to look at them. Rage filled her eyes and anger was radiating from her. Blitze looked as though she would faint. "What happened?", Roohar whispered.

"We went out as you said and used the deep magic to plan the attack on those divers. We even lured one away with the shoal you conjured and attack him with the currents. But.. ", Blitze stopped. "But what", Roohar said angrily. "But then suddenly the current disappeared." "The current disappeared?", Roohar whispered. "THE CURRENT DISAPPEARED!",

Roohar shouted and her voice echoed throughout the cave. "It was made by the deep magic of the abyss given to us sirens long ago. IT CAN NOT JUST DISAPPEAR!", Roohar shouted. Vex and Blitze quivered with fear. Now they've done it. Roohar was angry and was beyond reason. Somebody will die today. Zervius was lucky she managed to get out alive. But they have no chance now. Blitze said her prayers but Vex continued on. "But. But.. Madam", Blitze continued. "We found that-" "YOU FOUND NOTHING!" Roohar's eyes glowed and she started to conjure objects out of nothing and started to throw around the room. Vex and Blitze hid behind a boulder. "Madam we found who's behind this!", Vex shouted to her. "It was another mermaid!"

Upon hearing this, her eyes returned to normal and she stopped glowing. "What did you say?", Roohar whispered. "Yes. Yes Madam. It was another mermaid." Vex said. "The shoal reported back to us saying that they saw a mermaid living in that reef and that she was the one who dispersed the current and saved that human." "A mermaid saving a.. a human?", said Roohar madly. "That's impossible! Those fish legs would rather die than to expose themselves to those land parasites". "And also Madam. It was the King's other daughter who saved him". Roohar's expressions froze. "The other daughter?" A smile erupted on her face. "The other daughter eh? Well Fadel really let himself go. Seriously what a pathetic excuse of a father? They couldn't find the first daughter and they've let the younger one roam about. He's losing it, that's for sure", Roohar laughed madly. "Well that would explain why the magic didn't work against her. What do we know about this girl?", Roohar asked. "Only they she was looking for her sister and is currently living in the reef."

"Interesting", Roohar said smiling.
"Well it's time we pay a visit to the poor thing and invite her here. She must be all alone in that reef. We don't want our guest to feel lonely now, do we?" Roohar smirked. "Now both of you run along and send that shoal back to the reef and see what Fadel's other daughter is up to". "Yes Madam", said Vex and Blitze in unison. "Oh and girls?", said Roohar as the sirens begin to leave. "Next time you come back here, bring good news. If you messed up again, even your skeletons won't be spared", she said in her enraged voice. The sirens gulped and said, "Ye.. Yes Madam" and then swam off quickly.

After a while, Roohar visited the dungeon where Sanho was kept imprisoned. She looked even more weaker than before. Sanho looked up and saw her approaching. "Why the long face dear?", Roohar said. "You feeling lonely? Well don't worry. We're gonna get someone to keep you company. How does that sound? Roohar clapped her hands excitedly. Sanho looked her in anger. "What are you talking about?", she asked. "Did you know that your sister is running amok in the sea. Pretty dangerous world out there. It would be a shame if something were to happen to her", Roohar said in a falsely sweet voice.

"What? Marjan? Where is she? What have you done to her?", Sanho shouted though her voice cracked because of being weak. Roohar held her face by the chin and said, "Don't worry dear. She's not here yet. But she will be. And when I am done with you both, your entire kingdom will collapse right before your eyes and with everything you hold dear." She let go off her face and went back.

The dungeon door closed and Sanho wailed loudly. "Marjan! Marjan! Its all fault! Its all my fault! Someone help her please" Her cries echoed throughout the dungeon.
