Alice POV
It's been 4 days straight. My mom leaves at 4 am and comes back at 8 p.m. I barely see her anymore. "Mom, rest please! I don't want you to over work yourself."
"I will. After I finish this paperwork." I nodded to her and headed upstairs. I took a shower and brushed my teeth. I head to my room, but I glance down the stairs. I hide behind the small wall and listen.
"One thousand dollars. How am I going to afford this?" One thousand dollars for what? I listen more, "Plus the electricity bill. That makes.... One thousand four hundred dollars." That's a lot of money.
I jogged back up the stairs and went into my room. I grabbed the decorated jar, I had hidden in case of an emergency and this is a Emergency. "Seven, eight, nine... okay." Nine hundred dollars. From the last 6 birthdays, Christmas', and all of the car washing.
I grabbed the left over change, and that made.... $905.27 I put the jar in her room and headed off to bed. I felt good, and I think that would help a lot.
Next day.
"Alice? Ms.Alice!" "Huh?" I saw the teacher was trying to get my attention. I saw some students laugh, and giggle. "What is 728 times 5?" I thought for a little, "3,640."
"Correct. Good thinking Ms.Alice." I looked out the window again admiring the beautiful blue sky. The clouds appeared as white fluffy islands floating across the sky, one with it's own unique shape, and design.
I heard the last bell sound. I quickly grabbed all of my books, and belongings. I walked to my locker and grabbed my book bag. I saw Dina walk by, with her little group of followers.
Her father owns the school, and she treats everyone like her own personal slave. I saw her drop her own lip gloss on purpose, and made another girl pick it up. She's always wearing bright red 6 inch heels, and a ton of make-up.
She makes her dad buy her all of the newest designs in fashion. From shoes to jewelry. I get really aggravated by her bossing people around. She's just a spoiled brat that's what she is. I walked down the hall, and started to walk home.
"Alice!" I hear. I turn and saw it was Ellie. "Hi, Ellie!" I hug her. We walked home together, and we did our homework. "Where's your mom?" "At work." I sighed. "She's getting overwhelmed with all of the bills, and payments." "Tell her to take it easy. Rest, and not to worry. She'll get better.""I hope so." I said. Ellie headed home. I didn't see Victor all day today. I wonder where he is.
