Five~

Kagutsuchi P.O.V

It's been a few hours since I had left the water estate,and it was now night. I've been thinking about what to expect from the selection. Though sensei had explained it the day before, I am still curious. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice I made it. I managed to catch a glimpse of a bright purple glow in the distance. "That's interesting" I thought as I ran faster to see the bright glow.

Once I was close enough I couldn't help but gasp in awe, there was a trail of wisteria flowers that seemed to cover up the majority of the lower half of the mountain. I observed the beautiful sight for a bit longer before I started walking up the small stone steps that seem to lead towards the peak of the mountain.

As I continued walking up the steps I carried on looking at the rows and rows of wisteria trees that seemed to lead on for miles. I finally stopped looking around and went up the rest of the steps till I reached the top. I looked around and noticed many others, most seem to be older than me by maybe 10 years while the others seem to be younger than me by 6 years.

I couldn't stop the worry in me as I saw the young teens that are participating in this life threatening selection. They may not make it out and return to their families, I breathed in and out before shaking my head. As much as i couldn't help but worry about the younger ones i had to focus on myself to make sure i survive this selection and make it back to my husband,sister in law and sensei.

I promised them I would make it and I will keep it, no matter the cost. I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt a tap on my arm, I looked down and saw a young woman who seemed to be around my age.

She had waist long dark brown hair that was tied back into a high ponytail with a yellow flower pin that completed her large compound like eyes that had no pupils and only a haze of lavender mixed with hot pink. She was wearing a pale blue robe that's tucked into a black hakama skirt with a midnight blue white flower patterned haori.

'Yes miss?' i said as i didn't know her, she smiled and held her hand out 'i'm Aimi, Aimi Sayuri'. I smiled at her kind aura, not noticing her cheeks flushing slightly, I reached my hand out and shaked hers in return 'it's a pleasure to meet you Aimi-san, I see you including yourself in the Selection?' I questioned the obvious.

Aimi-san slightly chuckled 'obviously I am and please just call me Aimi-chan' she smiled. I chuckled 'my apologies Aimi-san but i feel it is better to call you what i am right now as we just met' i replied making her pout. 'Pleaseeee um what's your name?' she whined but stopped when she released her name. I laughed but answered 'i am Kagutsuchi Kamado, oldest son to Kie and Tanjuro Kamado'

Aimi-san smiled 'god of fire eh?' she said, making me sigh 'well me and my family are known charcoal sellers but we do things within our village and help whoever we can as best as possible' i replied. Aimi-san gasped 'really? What does your family do?' she asked, making me look at her quite confused.

'I just mentioned we are charcoal sellers Aimi-san' I said to her, 'I heard that but what else do you do?' she answered, making me understand what she was asking. 'Ah my apologies Aimi-san but well me and my younger sister are known as your village beauties plus my younger brother is known as the village kindest again i share that title for him' i explained.

Aimi-san looked at me in awe. 'That's amazing kag-kun but what's your title?' she asked, i was about to answer her but stopped when i heard what she called me. 'I'm sorry, what did you call me?' I whispered, making her look at me in the eyes. 'I called you kag-kun?..' she said, making me take a deep breath 'are you alright?'. I nodded 'yes i am but please don't call me kag-kun, that name is only for family and extremely close friends and i had just met you Aimi-san' i clarified.
