"Now, go ahead and choose an army that you want!"
The woman said enthusiastically as she floated around him with a smile on her face. Watching as the young man blankly stare at the choices in front of him. Thinking deeply about his decision since if everything she said was true, he would be placed in a bloodbath. So, he needed to consider one important aspect when choosing his army, and that is their price and advantages.
If he chooses an army that has incredibly expensive troops and buildings like the Terran Dominion or Protoss race, then he would be in danger against players that like to play aggressively. It was likely that these kinds of players would rush a few troops immediately to harass nearby bases and steal their resources, or even destroy their base once they see that they could be a potential threat to them.
As the woman has said to him, he'll be fighting other creatures from different universes as well, so he has very little information about the majority of the army he is up against. He didn't know if they provide troops cheaply or expensively, so he needed to establish a decent defense once he stabilizes his economy. He can use either the troops themselves or the defensive buildings that each base provides.
"I may be overthinking but... it's better to be cautious than regret it later on"
He said to himself as he narrowed down his choices to either the Undead race, Terran Confederacy, or the Zergs. The factions from the game [Command and Conquer: Red Alert Series] were enticing to him, but they would become incredibly weak later in the game as they fall short against other races like the Zergs and Terran, all of which can run them down due to their superior technology or firepower.
"Terrans have a pretty decent amount of defensive structures compared to the Zergs and Undead... They consume so much space because of the supply depots, but Zergs also have a disadvantage since overlords float around in the air. This can alert nearby players of my location, so I might be putting myself in danger"
He said to himself with a difficult look on his face as he tried to compare the pros and cons of choosing between the Terran Confederacy or the Zergs/Primal Zerg. But he was leaning more toward choosing Terran Confederacy because of their versatility. He can always move his base to another location if he ever notices an upcoming attack since most Terran buildings can fly and move.
They have also incredible resource gathering thanks to mules that can be summoned through the command center. Additionally, though they aren't as cheap as Zergs, they have units that deal an incredible amount of damage despite their lower defenses. So, the Terran Confederacy provides him with a lot of advantages, even if managing the Terran base is extremely taxing. Terrans require more attention compared to other races due to the mechanics of their base.
"The only problem is... Terran units are immobile compared to the units of other races, who have the greater speed or can teleport between terrains. They also have horrible scouting units, so I might be shrouded in a fog of war until I can add an orbital to my command center"
He whispered to himself before he switched his attention to the Zergs. A race that he always had fun playing. Unlike the Terrans, Zergs provide more scouting units and cheaper units compared to the other races. Though he does have to sacrifice drones to build their infrastructures, he didn't need to worry too much due to the larva mechanics of the Zerg base. He can simultaneously turn them all into drones if he wanted, unlike the Terrans, which he needed to wait for since the command center only produces SCVs one at a time.
Additionally, the Zergs have incredible defenses compared to other races. Though they do have their defensive structures, there are units in the Zerg race that can be used for defensive purposes like the Lurkers and Swarm host. But in terms of offensive capabilities, they somewhat fall short compared to the Terrans and Protoss units. They have greater firepower thanks to their high technological advancement.
